The kick awesome Sync Weekly Magazine (http://www.SyncWeekly.com) added me to the Stuff You Love series back in January 2012... This is what I sent them. I was bit wordy so they had to summarize a bit, but here is the full list... :-) I'm posting this in case ya didn't get a chance to read it.

Michael Doc Davis or Doc is an Arkansas entertainer, comedian, actor, and promoter that has lived in Arkansas for most of his life. Doc has performed comedy all over Arkansas and surrounding states and can be found at the Loony Bin supporting local comedy. Doc has been in Independent films including the lead role in the feature film ‘Tuckerman’, a main character in the feature film ‘Anyone’, and several short films as well. He’s been heard on The Point 94.1 and He prides himself on using his talents to help many local charities and other arts.

Things I love

Orange Sherbet: This has got to be the best Ice Cream ever and especially if you have it in a fresh waffle cone. It’s a little something that takes me back to my childhood and great memories. I do tend to eat it quick and the brain freeze ROCKS!
Wine: Somehow I got into wines and I have tried many different ones from all over the world. I am a bit jealous of the wines since some of them have been to places I have only planned to visit, but I won’t whine too much about that.
Laughter: Laughter is an incredible sound that causes a bigger high than any drug… from what I’ve been told. Laughter is the best medicine and great therapy for the soul of the one laughing and the one causing the laughter. This is true unless it during some sort of intimate moment but I’m over that. I’m even cranking up a new show called Doc’s Group Therapy (http://DocsGroupTherapy.com)
Helping Charities: Although some may say I’m a charity case, I do LOVE helping Arkansas charities. Sometimes it’s a bit hard to mix comedy and serious stuff like charities; it does seem to work well. The charities I enjoy the most are those that help children and we have a lot that need our help.
Road Trips to Nowhere: In order to feed my free spirit, I tend to love to drive with no specific location or predetermined route planned out. It’s a great way to clear the mind, get a pile of new observational comedy, and meet lots of new people. However, I always seem to end up by the ocean, in a hammock, and with a nice drink. Nothing like the ocean, but the water makes it difficult to sit still, especially if too many drinks were involved -- insert special dance --.
Scuba Diving & Snorkeling: I do love Scuba but I think I should likely lose a little weight before dive time in 2012. It’s not a good thing if you look like messed up Play-Doh in a sack. I’m not saying that’s what I look like, but you won’t find many photos of me in a wet suit. I’m just say’n
Photography: I love the fact that with photography it captures a moment in time for remembering great times, funny times, and wondering how a photo could be used to embarrass someone. I’m not saying I would do that, but I do take a LOT of photos -- insert evil laugh --. Believe it or not, several of my photos have actually earned money and no it wasn’t blackmail.

01/21/2012 - Comedy and Blues - CloverBlue IBC Show at Parrot Beach | N. Little Rock, Arkansas

One of my favorite bands called CloverBlue (www.CloverBlue.com) is going to the IBC (International Blues Competition) Jan 31 at Beale St in Memphis, Tennessee after winning the 2011 SCBS (Spa City Blues Society) competition. As always they did an OUTSTANDING job getting their blues on to say the least. I’m VERY proud of CloverBlue and I had a blast doing a comedy set and hosting the event at Parrot Beach. All of the proceeds from the show went to help cover some of CloverBlue expenses to IBC. I fully believe that CloverBlue will represent Arkansas very well and they will come back as winners. It was AWESOME to see friends there and meeting new friends as well. There were bands supporting bands and many more. It was interesting to see the folks faces that weren’t expecting comedy that night and even better when they joined the fire circle outside as they laughed and repeated some of the jokes that I told them earlier. I always enjoy supporting local bands, other arts, and charities here in our great state of Arkansas.

If you haven’t heard CloverBlue, then you really really really need to. Some of their music will be part of Doc’s Group Therapy (www.DocsGroupTherapy.com) in February. They are also the band that will be putting together the Doc’s Group Therapy intro / song track. Too AWESOME!

What a great place to Debut Doc’s Group Therapy (www.DocsGroupTherapy.com) than at The Loony Bin comedy club (www.LoonybinComedyClub.com) in Little Rock, Arkansas. This was a LIVE Podcast recorded show with a studio audience. It was an incredible success and a blast to have. More about this event will be in Revel Magazine (www.RevelAtConway.com).

This was an EXCELLENT night of fun with my friends in Eden Crow (http://EdenCrowBand.com), McCuin (http://McCuinBand.com) and in the crowd. What could be better than bringing in the New Year than in a place that honors our military veterans? It simply could not have been better! Yep, the ROCK & DOC connection… works EVERYTIME! We definitely took over the place and rocked it out with 20,000 watts. Both of these bands will have music on my new Podcast Doc’s Group Therapy (http://DocsGroupTherapy.com) on January 17th.

I had the honor to start out the night by doing a comedy set recapping the 2011 events that included a few mishaps of my own regarding dating and hitting deer. It was a lil challenging being told I need to keep it clean just 10 minutes before I went on, but I’m always up for a challenge and still brought the funny.

I had the pleasure to introduce my friends from Eden Crow and they brought the heat and even getting a few of the older generation stirred into a frenzy. Matter of fact Cowboy was so sexy when he took his shirt off that they asked him put it back on to keep from having a stroke . Cowboy and his crew are freak’n AWESOME.

I felt a need to sing and couldn’t help myself; I had to sing a special Birthday song to the birthday dude of the night, Greg McCuin. This wasn’t any normal song; it was sort of mix between Marilyn Monroe and some sort of Elvis I think. Then a lil dance afterward, yep I still can’t dance, I’m white. All I’ll say is that I bet people in the future will ask for the special Doc birthday song / dance and I’ll oblige.

Next up, I brought on McCuin and holy freak’n WOW!!! These guys + 1 girl came out STRONG and kept it going STRONG! They were shredding and rocking into the night having some fun with a few rules and showing how rock and roll was meant to break em’. Heck yeah! Even one of McCuin’s guitarists had to put his shirt back on as well… just too much sexy . Almost caused a heart attack or two I’m sure. Seeing my buddy PosX rocking bass was absolutely awesome, even with a few screws loose. He definitely still has it what it takes!

Now the countdown began - 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… HAPPY NEW YEAR! Champagne, hugs, kisses, and a lot of well wishing. I do love ALL of my friends and it was AWESOME meeting the new ones.

To sum it up, it was a very eclectic type of entertainment throughout the night… Comedy, Southern / Modern Rock, a lil Country, and an entire collection of unedited interesting club dance music and even included the Muppets grumpy old men . It was like a fun / interesting twilight zone.

This was an OUTSTANDING NIGHT!!! 2012 is going to be a GREAT year and I look forward to seeing everyone throughout this year.

11/14/2011 – Comedy Show / Karaoke Contest, Central Arkansas SPCA Benefit – Jacksonville, Arkansas

This was an incredible night and it started out with the Arkansas Razorbacks beating the tar out of Tennessee (49 to 7). This set the stage for a great night of laughs, great spirits, dancing, and singing. The Goal Post (7607 John Hardin Rd. in Jacksonville, Arkansas) is a nice location, warm atmosphere, and the stage was just right. DJ Phil Houston with Houston Entertainment had everything perfect and made it easy for everyone to have a wonderful night. Sync Weekly magazine (http://SyncWeekly.com) was also in the house helping make sure to spread the word. A big thank you to Melissa Tucker for sending out the photographer, he was very professional and got some laughs as well. The evening was put together to benefit the Central Arkansas SPCA. The Central Arkansas SPCA is headed up by Karen Stone; she also coordinated the event and did a superb job. Central Arkansas SPCA needs lots of help so don’t wait for the next event to do so. After the Razorbacks game, the double feature comedy set was next from some of the Comedians of WTF Comedy (http://WTFComedy.com) that included Chucky D (http://ComedianChuckyD.com) and myself, Michael Doc Davis aka Doc (http://ComedianDoc.com). I took the stage with a new high energy, high speed, interactive comedy set that involved stories, family, and personal issues, and crazy things Chucky D and I have done. This was the first time back on stage since the news about my back. Chucky D came up next to deliver hard punching and perfect set that kept the crowd in stitches with a different spin on racial issues, drug use, grandparents, some secrets about me, and more. We never let up until we were done. I have to admit that the shots bought by the audience were a nice touch… the Oatmeal shot was a bit strange however it did make me think of my OREO song a few times after I drank it. I wanted to congratulate the military couple getting married after the fiancé comes back from IRAQ regardless of my comment of from one hell to another. HAHAHA!!!

Next up was the Karaoke contest that had 16 contestants for the first round. The prizes ranged from $250 for 1^st Prize, $100 for 2^nd Prize, and $50 3^rd Prize. The competition was quite impressive to say the least. Guess what… yep I was one of the judges along with my buddy Grant Morris (Which also videoed the comedy and 1^st round of the Karaoke contest). In the first round all of the contestants were in there comfort zone with their favorite song to sing. However in the second round Phil had a surprise. The six final contestants had to sing 2 more songs. Out of the final contestants in the 2^nd round, only 3 could be chosen and they were 1^st Place Justin Bunting, 2^nd Place Lucy Galloway, and 3^rd Place Leslie Galloway.

A special thanks to Grant Morris. He’s always been there in support of comedy, film, and more. He is also a comedian and actor that can be found in our WTF Comedy Sketches. You just have to see it to understand just how far he will go to help. I’m just say’n.

This was an all around great time and if you missed it, you missed out. There will be another event early next year by the Central Arkansas SPCA so stay tuned. This date will be announced at a later time.

Independent Guerilla, Bradley Media, and Market Street Cinema present a double feature on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011.
Tuckerman, staring Michael "Doc" Davis and Shelia Stanfield, will be shown at 7:00 PM, followed by IGP's short feature, The Devil Lives in Hot Springs. Sandwiched between the two movies, the filmmakers will hold a Q&A session and will talk briefly about their upcoming movie project, Haddie, which is being dedicated to Charles B. Pierce, creator of The Legend of Boggy Creek and The Town That Dreaded Sundown. Also in discussion will be the web series Ded V, and the multi-media project Z-Trackers. Anyone interested in independent filmmaking is encouraged to attend and participate.

Tuckerman is a thriller about a man who learns of his first love's alleged suicide. Unable to believe the news, he decides to return to his hometown to investigate. Once there, he learns that there are secrets held in the small town, as well as forces that prefer to keep those secrets hidden. By the time he's convinced to leave, he finds that it may be too late.

The Devil Lives in Hot Springs, also a thriller, tells the story of one night in three sets of neighbors lives. Their stories begin separately, but converge by the end in unexpected ways with unexpected results.

Neither film has officially been rated, but the filmmakers suggest a strong PG13 rating for Tuckerman, and an R rating for The Devil Lives in Hot Springs.

The Tuckerman Movie (www.TuckermanMovie.com) is a psychological thriller filmed and produced exclusively in Arkansas that includes almost 35 Arkansas actors starring Michael ‘Doc’ Davis (www.MichaelDocDavis.com) and Shelia Stanfield (www.SheliaStanfield.com). Here is the movie plot outline: As a teenager, Robert Coltman had loved Connie Sutton. Now, as an adult, she's committed suicide. Or so they say. Returning to his hometown to investigate, strange occurrences force him to realize: Sometimes memories come back to haunt you. The Premiere was a spectacular event with an incredible movie presentation at the Rave Motion Pictures Theater (www.RaveMotionPictures.com). We started out with a cast and crew pre-event meet up at Coplands (www.CopelandsRestaurantLittleRock.com/) in Little Rock, Arkansas. Nearly everyone in the movie was there and it was almost like a family reunion. There were people catching up and some meeting for the first time. After Coplands, it was time for the Limousine trip to the Rave Theater. Each time the Limo pulled up to the Premiere, we were all greeted by a Red Carpet walkway, people applauding, cameras clicking and flashing, news crews interviewing, autograph requests, and people everywhere. To sum it up in one word, EXCITING! There were also a lot of Arkansas radio stations represented that helped promote the event like Signal Media’s The Point 94.1 (www.Point941.com), Clear Channel stations and Crain Media stations. On top of all of this, we were all treated absolutely wonderful by all of the Rave Theater staff.

The movie began after a few words from the Director and Writer, Jett West (www.JettWest.com) of Independent Guerrilla (www.IndependentGuerrilla.com). During several moments of the movie, the audience was quiet as the big screen grabbed their attention with the building plot. The scenes ranged from dark voodoo, light comical, ‘what the heck’ moments, and some that can’t be said without giving away surprises. The movie indeed kept the audience guessing all the way to the end. Overall this movie is a GREAT product as a result of a LOT of hard work from a LOT of people. ‘GREAT JOB’ to ALL of the cast and crew. Props and other items from the movie were given away to some VERY happy audience members at the end of the event.

Being one of the Stars of this movie is a great honor and privilege for me. It was amazing to see all of the scenes that we shot and everything stitched together by the editors Wain Bradley (www.BradleyMediaLLC.com) and Jimmy Westmoreland (www.JettWest.com). I am still awestruck by this movie and being part of it and to see it on the same screen as BIG production movies from Hollywood.

08/20/2011 - Little Rock’s 1st Annual Celebrity Waiter Fundraiser for the American Cancer Society

This was an awe-inspiring event that benefited the American Cancer Society (http://Cancer.org). The American Cancer Society is an organization that is tirelessly working towards a cure for that dreadful disease called cancer. They can only continue this battle with the help of businesses, volunteers, and event supporters like those that attended the 2011 Celebrity Waiter event at Loca Luna (http://LocaLuna.com) and Red Door (http://RedDoorRestaurant.net). Both locations have incredible menus and staff, which made it easy for the Celebrity Waiters to do what they came to do. The Celebrity Waiters included local celebrities such as Radio Personalities, State & Local Celebrities, TV Personalities, and more.

The celebrity waiters did a variety of things such as warm table conversations, serving food and drinks, tattoo modeling, shoulder massages, telling jokes, singing, and more. They went to such lengths, not only to raise money for a very worthy cause but also the bragging rights. This of course created a hilarious competition for the highest total in tips between the celebrity waiters. This competitive spirit added to the entertainment value for everyone throughout the night. War Memorial Stadium’s Manager Charlie Staggs stated, “I don’t care if I beat everyone as long as I beat Danny-Joe Crofford”. Former Radio Personality Crofford’s response was a stealthy strategic move to pre-initial the tip envelopes with his own initials in hopes of those tips being added to his total. To Crofford’s dismay, the other celebrities caught on to his move and quickly replaced the envelopes. Radio Personality B98.5’s Lisa Fischer said she wasn’t concerned about the competition and felt it would be an easy win. Olympic Trials Qualifier Leah Thorbilson agreed with Lisa because she said she was convinced the win would be hers instead. The competition was fierce and at the 8:30PM mark, 1st place went back and forth. The rankings came down to Lisa Fischer in 1st, Leah Thorbilson in 2nd, and Mrs. Little Rock Sharon Lanier in 3rd. However, it was determined later that Leah received a final tip that moved her in to 1st place as the overall winner for the event. Over $2,500 was raised throughout the night however this didn’t include the final tip from Leah or the restaurant’s staff contributions. Incredibly, even the regular waiters and bar staff from both locations donated their tips.

I had the privilege of being the crazy and comedic MC on tap at Loca Luna moving from table to table to help make sure the evening and the waiters were lively and fun. Although I like to joke around and have fun, I take events like this very seriously. Events like this are not only a way to raise awareness and funds to help fight cancer, but are also a great way to celebrate the victories in the lives of survivors, the memories we had with the ones we’ve lost, hope for the ones that are fighting, and hope for cures for those not yet diagnosed. HOLY FREAK’N MOLY!!! The Loony Bin Comedy Club in Little Rock, Arkansas (http://LoonyBinComedy.com/LR) presented the WTF Comedy show live on Tuesday, June 21st. This show was the BIGGEST Arkansas Showcase they have put on so far. A huge thanks to Jeff Jones and the Loony Bin staff for being OUTSTANDING and helping make the show a success! We also wanted to thank everyone for coming out to the show on a Tuesday night to pack it out. What is special about a Tuesday you might ask… well it’s just before WTF (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) which was very fitting for our show, I might add.

Leading up to the show on the big screen, the Loony Bin premiered WTF Comedy short films and videos. We also premiered a zany silly concept between each one, called Rrama Llama by James Foard. Lights, camera, laughter! Now the cameras were rolling with Grant Morris, James Foard, and Rick Morgan manning them. These guys are the ones behind the scenes and sometimes in front of the camera that make everything work. They just plain ROCK! The morning show guys, Sharpe Dunaway and Mike Kennedy, from The Point 94.1 (http://Point941.com/) came up to the stage showing their love and support for local entertainment. These are some GREAT guys to say the least. Doug Kramer from KLAZ 105.9 / Big Dumb Fun show (http://klaz.com) and Comedian Amy Pannell from 88.3FM (http://kabf.org) were also present to support local entertainment. Thanks to all of them!

The show was billed as a triple feature that included Tommy Kelley (http://ComedianTommyKelley.com), Michael “Doc” Davis (http://ComedianDoc.com), and Chucky D (http://ComedianChuckyD.com). First up was Tommy Kelley, the king of Arkansas country comedy and one of the back wood boys. Tommy was hilarious like he always is with that special twang that can make a simple greeting quite funny. He opened it up with no hesitation, energizing the audience and brought the funny big time. Lil’ ol me, Michael “Doc” Davis, was up next to do my thing with my special twist of quick fire comedy and funny stories. I have to admit that I do love to engage the audience, bring them into the fun and be part of the show… ok to a certain point! That showing of the skin threw me off a little! To top it all off, Chucky D took the stage to complete the night with some gut-clenching laughter and baring it all. Can we say moose knuckle? I think we can. Yes, Chucky is that sexy and Nana has a problem! It was truly GREAT fun all around.

It was incredible to know that people from all over came to the show, including some that were from fairly far out of town that stayed the night in Little Rock. We had film makers, bands, regular folks, other comedians, and more. All of the hugs, knuckle pounds, emails, and wall posts have been most excellent and deeply appreciated. We love all of you!

05/25/2011 - Battle for Autism Awareness | Atkins, Arkansas

On May 1st, we battled the weather in order to “Battle for Autism Awareness”, but we didn’t let the bad weather stop us! At the Hole in the Wall Venue (http://HoleInTheWallVenue.com) in Atkins Arkansas, local bands prepared to go to battle for a coveted radio exposure opportunity on The Edge 100.3 FM (http://EdgeLittleRock.com). On top of the radio spot, I will also include all of the bands in my article in the Arkansas Rockstar Magazine for the June edition along with several blog spots. With that being said, these weren’t the only wins that would result from the day; we also raised awareness about autism and nearly $400 for the Autism Speaks organization (http://AutismSpeaks.org).

I have to admit as I drove to the event, I was quite worried about the number of flood warnings and bad weather looming just after big rains and deadly storms rolled through Arkansas. To my amazement, the sun peaked through the clouds seemingly guiding my truck to the warm hearts supporting this great cause. I pressed on and arrived at The Hole in the Wall Venue in Atkins. I loved the fact that kids were able to run around inside and have fun, play with toys and games, while teenagers did what they do, yep texting, eating, laughing, and just having great clean fun. An older crowd was also present and they were having just as much fun. Wayne and Jarred Webster (Owners / Managers) greeted me like family as I walked in. This place may be called the Hole in the Wall, but this place is FULL of heart! It was time for the event to begin and I took the stage. I had a great time doing some comedy and chatting with the kids and adults in the audience. As I am sure you’ve figured out, I was both Comedian and MC for this event and it was a lot of fun entertaining age ranges from 4 to upper something Not Guessing in order to not offend, HAHA. Wayne hides his age well for an older dude. Then I had the pleasure to introduced Dawn Itzkowitz, the chair for Autism Speaks. Dawn has an amazing story in regards to Autism. Her own son has autism and he is one cool kid that I enjoyed meeting last year along with the rest of her family. I’ve learned a lot about autism over the past year and I’m still amazed by how much we all don’t know. I don’t consider autism a disability of learning and socialization; they just have a different way that they do it. Next was the main event, the battle for 1st place in the 1st Annual Battle for Autism. The first band, Atma out of Russellville, took the stage and started out the day’s rocking very strong with no hesitation; they energized the room and set the pace for the rest of the bands. Next up was Still Reign out of Conway and they heated up the stage to show they were there to compete. Their keyboard player was jamming so hard that he knocked 2 keys off his board while he was playing, but they never missed a beat. The third band was RoseFire from Batesville, and I have to say that they got several heads rocking and everyone watching. Their lead singer engaged the crowd and pumped up the atmosphere. They represented Batesville with some serious fire, ROSEFIRE!!! The final band, PoisonWood from Conway, took the stage and the thrashing began! I almost had to get up and get my self-mosh on! The lighting and rain may have been outside, but PoisonWood brought the electricity inside. All of these bands were outstanding, VERY unique and quite impressive. Arkansas Has some serious talent and all of these bands proved it.

If the entertainment from the bands wasn’t enough, there were refreshments, food, and awesome auction Items. The items ranged from an Ibanez Guitar, autographed by Dark from Day One & Future Leaders of the World, a Signature Series Harmonica, to lots of gift cards from local Atkins Merchants helping the cause. You will never guess who won the raffle for the guitar, nope not me; the winner was Dawn from Autism Speaks! What did she do? She donated it back and a new winner was drawn, and that kiddo darn near started crying from being so happy… AWESOME!!!

Well Doc, WHO WAS THE WINNER??? I’m getting to that so hold your horses!!! The winner was, , from Conway, Arkansas… POISONWOOD!!! They will be interviewed on The Edge 100.3 FM in May. They were so PUMPED and rightfully so. Great job guys! You should be very proud of yourselves. All of the bands were GREAT and you should all be proud of how awesome you rocked it out, helping raise awareness and funds for Autism Awareness.

The event was over and it was time to face the storms outside and well it looked like God was happy too and turned off the rain so we could drive home safely.

Venues, Menus, and WHAT THA!!!

Being a comedian in the great state of Arkansas has been a great experience and yes, I too dream like a Rockstar. Seeing myself in front of large crowds and being recognized before being introduced is always dancing around in my head. The welcoming nature of Arkansans has made this quite easy to experience.

I’ve traveled all over the state of Arkansas and surrounding states, performing in many different venues including theaters, parks, churches, clubs, bars, and even a tent at a deer camp. I’ve enjoyed many of the places I’ve been to and the hospitality of each.

You may be wondering where this article is going. Well I guess it’s kind of a review, rant, etc. I’ve been to most of the major entertainment venues in central Arkansas, but of course still have more to try. I am all about the food,

atmosphere, and even a nice comfortable bathroom. With that in mind, I have to say that I’ve ran into some terrible bathrooms that would make any person want to wash their hands just by my description of it. I’m not the sort to “out” any venue, but not having a decent bathroom that one can relax and take care of their business in, is crappy to say the least.

Dear venues, if we are paying for service, then pay attention. Here are some ways to know if you need to update or deep clean your restrooms:

■ If your restroom allows for someone to peripherally size up the person next to them.
■ If your toilet requires you to open the back to flush.
■ If after you clean, it looks as bad as before.
■ If your cook is too scared to wash his or her hands.
■ If your bathroom door consists of someone standing outside to block the open view.
■ If your lock consists of a latch, coat hanger, string and a screw, etc.
■ If the walls in the stalls look like someone blew their nose on it from weeks prior.
■ If a person is required to spread lime after they are done.
■ If there are enough special curly hairs laying around to make something out of them.
■ If it’s written on the wall, “For a good time, call Doc”.
■ If the toilet paper holder consists of someone holding it under the stall for you.
■ If the plunger is a reoccurring theme.
■ If the mirror has “I’m watching you” scratched on it.
■ If the paper towels smell like parmesan all the time and it's not a pizza place.
■ If it’s brown and it was originally painted white.
■ If flies won’t even go in.
■ If you have a sign that says, “Please don’t flush”
■ If your customers prefer to “hover” over an open fire rather than use your facilities.
■ If dead animals are near it or in it.
■ If the vent fan has melted.
■ If the automatic air freshener sprays and you can’t smell a difference.

These are only a few off the top of my head, but I’m sure you get the point… By the way, regardless of the writing on the stall, please don’t call me for a good time unless it’s an actual party.

The bottom line is: don’t flush your business down the toilet because you don’t clean your crapper. Once again, I’m all about great food and atmosphere, just please make your bathroom a decent place that we don’t have to wait in long lines to use, where we can sit and ponder the rest of the awesomeness of your venue.

I guess you could say that I’m standing up for those sitting down. Hahaha

It was great to be the MC of Kids Fest for the 3rd year in a row and it was a BEAUTIFUL day for it. Kids Fest is such an incredible way to show support for our kids and to raise awareness of kids in abusive situations that need our support. All children need heroes in their lives and children that have been abused need super heroes. That was the theme for this year’s event that included the Adult 5K / Kids 1K ‘Super Hero Races’ and a big Talent a show at Simon Park in Conway, Arkansas. The event was put on by Children’s Advocacy and Alliance (http://HopeAndJustice.org) that includes Central Arkansas Children’s Advocacy Center and the CASA 20th Judicial District program. These organizations help abused or neglected children by advocating for them and give these children a voice for better future. This year was sponsored by Hurley Chiropractic of Conway, Arkansas (http://HurleyChiropractic.com), which gave me a great back massage.

Seeing what I believe was hundreds of people at the event was absolutely wonderful. There were so many kids in their favorite super hero costumes that it almost made me think it was Halloween all over again. Kids were running around having fun, laughing, splashing in the water, bouncing in the bouncy house, meeting Conway firefighters, checking out the smoke house, face painting, enjoying food and more… The adults looked like they were having just as much fun as their children… I know I did.

After the 5K and 1K races were over it was time for the races and best costume award and GREAT JOB goes to all of them. Once all of the awards were given out it was time to witness some of the incredible talent of Arkansas Kids. There was music, dance, singing, baton twirlers, and more… The talent on the stage was outstanding and you could really tell that the teachers take pride in their kids, which is what we all should do.

04/03/2011 – Eggshibition XX Youth Home Benefit | Little Rock, Arkansas

Absolutely WONDERFUL is how it could be defined but it would still be an understatement. Eggshibition XX (http://www.eggshibition.org) was a very unique event that benefited an organization called Youth Home (http://www.youthhome.org) in Arkansas. This year marked Eggshibition’s 20th year of helping the Youth Home. This was my first year as a host and it was a true pleasure and honor.

This year’s hosts / MC’s were the wonderful Christina Munoz of Ch. 7 and lil ol’ me Michael “Doc” Davis an actor and comedian. I guess this made it a kind of a Beauty and the Cheese mix. HAHAHA!!! Christina brightened the stage and event with her wonderful smile, personality and presence. She and I cut some jokes back and forth, had some fun on the mic. and also off stage in the crowd. I had such a great time working with her and I look forward to working with her again in the future.

To see so many people completely fill the floor of the Jack Stephens Event Center was moving to say the least. Everyone so openly gave of their money by bidding on the artwork, gift baskets, the opportunity to win the golden egg, and the premier live auction items. The eggs were beautiful and the passion of the artists to help was clearly infused in every piece. The gift baskets were superb and they also overflowed with the love of those that put them together. In everyone’s eyes it was easy to see that each and every person understood the needs of the Youth Home families and children.

The live auction had Jay Atkins (Pro Auctioneer) at the mic. Jay can really build the energy in auctions and bidders. There were trips to Las Vegas, Rio, New York, unique Hotel Stays, Cowboy Football Packages, Razorback Packages and so much more.
The event would never have been possible if it wasn’t for those that put it together. All of the volunteers of Eggshibition, the local media, the gift basket makers, egg artists, those that donated the live auction items, UALR, the corporate sponsors, organizational involvements for food, drinks (Glaziers), and sound and lights (Central Arkansas Entertainment). Off of The Sun website (thesun.co.uk), it appears that a UK Student added a little extra flavor to his teacher’s coffee by tea bagging her coffee mug and placing a photo on his Facebook. Outside the fact of the student having a ball, apparently the teacher was traumatized when she found out where the nutmeg flavoring came from.

Momma Got Milk! I’m not sure how big this woman is, as in a cow or just a squirt, but a North Dakota woman said she already has 200 bags of her own milk in storage. She is trying to sell the stock for $2 per ounce according to UPI.com (upi.com). However, The Human Milk Banking Association is putting a squeeze on freelancers stating that there are safety risks involved. I wonder if they told her that she breast quit. Hmmmmm

Sometimes you've got to try to keep from popping off. A Florida man tried to rob a bank and it turned out to be an epic fail. The Orlando Sentinel (orlandosentinel.com) reported that during the arrest after a robbery attempt, the suspect’s prosthetic arm came off. I guess one should never try to commit a crime unarmed.

A story on NBC New York’s website (nbcnewyork.com) reported that Bed Bug cases are set to triple in their Public Schools. WHAT THE HECK are their schools doing with beds in them?!? Haven’t there been enough student / teacher problems? I’m just say’n.

Wow, I guess they thought of everything now… there are motorized lazy boys, wheelchairs, stairs, and now a motorized bed, according to Today’s THV’s Kitchen Sink (todaysthv.com). Although the bed was made for disabled persons by a man in Florida… My crazy mind could see this being abused a bit by the prostitution industry for the people that are on the go and could even be purchased on a lay away plan. I guess we shall see…

Out of ArcaMax Publishing (arcamax.com), an article about a study from Vancouver, British Columbia on food trays at malls yielded some pretty nasty news. It may be cleaner to eat off the floor than on a mall food tray. The study suggested that many of the food trays are as dirty as toilets. Does that mean you’re not just getting a meal; you’re getting a Crappy Meal with a special prize?

Here is another story that’s nuts! Canada’s CNews (cnews.canoe.ca) reported that a Toronto Police officer threatened to taser 2 suspect’s testicles. Neither suspect was intimidated by the threat. These guys may have been ballsy, but just the thought of my chestnuts roasting on an open fire is enough to make me agree to anything. Both of these guys are NUTS! My safe word is ‘Safe-word’.

In flight live entertainment is what a Russian airline is planning, based on what UPI Asia (upiasia.com) is reporting. The airline is planning on hiring clowns, actors, and other entertainment. When I first read this before I read the type of entertainment, I was trying to figure out how they were going to install poles and dollar machine changers. The extended high heels on the flight attendants would have been VERY uncomfortable.

The Orlando Sentinel (orlandosentinel.com) reported that 2 black bears trashed a car in Florida. Seems that the media is a bit racist towards bears if you ask me. You don’t hear as much news about white bears. Most people don’t know if a bear craps in the woods, but they did with this Ford Taurus… well they beat the crap out of it. It wasn’t built bear tough for sure.

Some guy in Tennessee was trying to check the gender of a poisonous copperhead snake, and POOF, the man is no longer among the living according to Yahoo News (news.yahoo.com). I’m not sure why one would care about the sex of a snake. Apparently this snake didn’t appreciate it and bit the guy as if it was saying KISS MY ASP!!!

03/26/2011 – 2011 Arkansas Funniest Person

That’s that… the 3rd Year of Arkansas’ Funniest Person is now in the books. Even though I was tending to other events throughout the month of March, I monitored the progress of Arkansas Comedians competing in the 2011 Arkansas Funniest Person (http://www.arkansasfunniestperson.com). As an original founder of this competition, I’m proud and touched by how family, friends, and businesses support this state’s comedians. The year started out with 30 contestants in 2 preliminary rounds from all over the state of Arkansas. 10 Semifinalists brought their best to be able to advance to the final round of 5. The competition was fierce and it all came down this grand finale. All 4 rounds were held at the Electric Cowboy in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The very diverse list of hosts and judges included Eric Counts, Matt Cruz, Adam Dodd, Brian Kerns, Kelly Boom, Corey and Jay, Angry Patrick, Melissa Tucker, Kasey Baynes, Jennifer Christman, Kelly Boom, Jeff Cage, and Shea Stewart. (Hope I didn’t miss anyone). Special performances over the 4 weeks of competition included Eric Counts, Adam Dodd, Angry Patrick and Brian Kerns.

Most of the Comedians that competed in Arkansas’ Funniest Person can be found on State of Comedy at http://www.stateofcomedy.com, so make sure to visit the site and check them out.

At the final night of competition on March 26th 2011, there were several VERY impressive sets that had me laughing hard enough to avoid trying to take a drink at the same time. The comedians that competed in the final round included Charles Michael, Andrew Estess, Chucky D, Dave Debeaux, and Laura Ratliff. There were people snorting, laughing, clapping and a few moments of quiet from shock with some of the comedians choices of topics. The competition completed and 5 contestants waiting for the results and the winner was… Laura Ratliff. Charles Michael Guidry brought some serious heat to the stage and impressed EVERYONE with twists, turns, current events and more earning him 2nd place. Andrew Estess at 4 months blew me away… VERY tight set and kept a high energy with incredibly relatable material. WTF Comedy’s (http://www.wtfcomedy.com) Chucky D did his thing with his pro. set that made tears of laughter fall from more than one face. Dave Debeaux cranked out his set, showing that he can truly write bringing him a 3rd place win. What a night!!!

Arkansas has some serious talent and each year the list will become longer and longer. From what I hear… there are a pile of new contests coming up in the great state of Arkansas that will highlight even more talent…

Dreaming like a Rock Star – By Michael "Doc" Davis – Arkansas Rockstar Magazine

This was my article that was published in the February Edition of Arkansas Rockstar Magazine among many other stories each month. You can pick up an magazine at West End, Fox and Hound, and other locations.

The term "Rock Star" could have many different meanings depending on who you ask for the definition. For the purposes of this article, we will define a Rock Star as a person who has a dream and is pursuing that dream. Rock Stars exist in several different industries, but this article will focus on the entertainment industry in particular. Arkansas is full of entertainers, such as: comedians, musicians, actors, and more. I’ve been to many different shows at many different venues across Arkansas, and it’s clear that this state has some serious talent. I’ve seen everything from 14 to 70 year olds, disabled individuals, and even receding hairlines on some big hair bands, all going after their dreams. My hat goes off to these people who have a dream and the courage to make their dream a reality. I think that everyone should go after their dreams -- unless it includes a playboy centerfold: you may end up in jail or slapped with a restraining order! Just Say’n.

It takes a lot of courage to perform in front of live crowds or cameras. This is why it’s critical for the people of Arkansas and all over, to support the entertainment industry and those who perform in it. Only with the support of friends, family, fans, and sponsors, is it possible for entertainers to do what they do. If you have never seen live comedy, live music, live theatre, or watched an independent / locally made film, then you are missing out. This is something you should put on your bucket list. Okay, why not put it on your list of stuff to do throughout the year? Start this weekend for that matter! I may just see you out and about while I’m in the crowd or performing on stage at a show. You may end up in my next story (respectfully of course) wink wink.

All people have dreams, and only through our dreams can we strive for our greater selves. Through a dream and fighting for it, equal rights were achieved. From a dream, a man walked on the moon. From a dream, many sheets have had to be changed. Dreams can change us and our surroundings, or even increase our laundry load! Seriously though, don’t be afraid to go after your dreams and support those going after theirs. Look for open mic nights where you will find musicians and comedians just starting out, working to better themselves, gain exposure, etc. There are also acting and improvisational groups, both professional and just starting out, that can be found at public theater s all across the state. When you see a sign, invite, or someone asking you to go to an open mic night or a show, don’t be shy… have fun and give your support at the same time. You can find more on these shows and open mics on Facebook, online calendars, local newspapers, entertainment magazines, etc.

A lot of entertainers also are found on Facebook by keyword searches. 02/27/2011 – 2011 Chili With a Kick, Youth Home Benefit – NLR, Arkansas

It was a GREAT time once again. I was the MC for the Chili with a Kick (http://ChiliWithaKick.com) event for over 10 hours and didn’t regret a moment. This was at the Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas. To be able to help out the kids of Youth Home (http://YouthHome.org) in Arkansas is always a HUGE honor for me. Chili with a Kick is a Big Red Ball Charitable Foundation (http://lrkickball.com) event. The next event is Eggshibition XX (http://eggshibition.com).

The kiddo’s running around, people laughing and carrying on, Doc twisted chili contestant interviews with my buddy Grant Morris on his camera, crazy kickball including a homerun and so much more made the morning, afternoon, and evening a BLAST!

This year’s Chili With a Kick included a Chili Cook off, Several AWESOME Bands, Silent Auction, lots of food and drinks, a Jalapeño Eating Contest, Flip Cup Competitions, Beer Pong, a Bouncy Thing, and of course KICKBALL.

The Jalapeño Eating Contest was CRAZY to say the least and there were many that went the distance and even a tie breaker eat-off had to be done. However, I bet the heat continued on once they say on the thrown of regret. HAHAHA!!!

I didn’t know that there was serious technique to beer pong, but the beer pong guys had some SERIOUS advice for me on exactly how to dunk their balls in a cup of beer. We caught it on video just so ya know…. Mwaaa haaaa haaaa.

I had a BLAST hanging out with the film students (Taylor, Carly, Jeff and Joshua) from Southern Arkansas University Tech (http://sautech.edu)… they know how to have fun and be VERY professional too.

The bands included Grayson Shelton, Crash Meadows, GFunk Featuring Jess Hoggard and Charles Wood, Suburban Legend, Wes and Carl, and DNR. They all rocked it out all day and night. Nearly all of these bands are available on FaceBook – http://FaceBook.com

The Silent Auction included painted beer steins, coffee mugs, and a plaque that were painted by volunteers and fired at The Painted Pig (http://PaintedPigStudio.com). A formal Oscar’s watch party night was up for auction as well.

A BIG Surprise also happened with a donation was my in the amount of $900 by Alton Pouncy. That is one AWESOME dude.

A big thanks to the coordinators (Erin Jester and Larry Betz) of Chili with a Kick for including me in the event as their all day MC.

02/20/2011 - Comedy n' Country Music at the Rialto Theatre in Morrilton, Arkansas

This show closely resembled a classy Branson style variety show of Comedy and Country Music for the whole family. The Rialto Theatre (http://RialtoArtsCenter.com) in Morrilton Arkansas is a wonderful historic venue. It was such a HUGE honor to perform on its stage knowing that so many incredibly talented entertainers had performed there as well. I appreciate Jason Campbell with SingleTree (http://SingleTreeBand.com) for adding me to their show as the comedian and master of ceremonies. The entire night could only be summed up as magical. It was amazing to take the stage at a Theatre with a big red curtain standing strong behind me, the spirit of entertainment embracing me as if to encourage me to bring on the laughs! Seeing and hearing all of the children and adults laughing, clapping, and some snorts here and there was moving to say the least. This is what makes any comedian come back for that performance high over and over again. It’s always amazing to me when folks ask for autographs and I don’t think I’ll ever get use to it. I do enjoy it along with the shoulder pats, handshakes, hugs and definitely when someone recites one of the stories or jokes from the evening… I simply love it and yet humbled all the same!!! However, I’m sure everyone from this evening has a new appreciation for knuckle pounds though. HAHAHA!!! (http://ComedianDoc.com)

After I had completed my set, I introduced a band that dang near got me up dancing and moving to the music. The problem is that I can’t dance and if you can ask anyone that has ever witnessed me try, they would agree. The band was called ‘Imagine That’ with the incredible Peyton Loeschner (http://myspace.com/PeytonTristynnLoeschner) as their lead singer. Peyton has been performing dance and music since about 3 and even plays some instruments. She is now 12 years old and continues to have a huge voice and even bigger heart. I am betting that you will be seeing and hearing this girl all over the radio, internet and TV someday. God has blessed this young lady with a lot of talent.

Next up was the absolutely unforgettable, incredible, well on their way to the top, Jason Campbell with SingleTree (http://SingleTreeBand.com). These guys and gal quickly demonstrated why they are becoming so popular. They covered music perfectly with a little hint of their own love of the art. Their originals are VERY strong and one in particular is called ‘If That Old Church Could Talk’ co-written by Tommy Kelley, which made me tear up quite bit but I LOVED it. Personally I think more of their music should be on the radio and I know it will be! SingleTree performs ALL over including the heart beat of country music in Nashville Tennessee but Arkansas will always be their home. This band signed with a California label, released an album called SingleTree with another album on the way very soon. Don’t miss these guys the next time they perform near you and for that matter, they would be worth a long drive.

I love both of these bands. They are very appreciative of everything, approachable and enjoy meeting EVERYONE!!!

It was an incredible night of fun to celebrate Arkansas Rockstar Magazine’s (http://www.ArkansasRockstarMag.com) 1st Year anniversary at Fox and Hound (http://www.FoxAndHound.com/locations/north-little-rock.aspx) in North Little Rock, Arkansas. After a wild finish to a football game that was won by a last second field goal… this was a perfect start to a wild night. It was an honor and privilege to be the Master of Ceremonies and the night’s comedian for this celebration for a very receptive crowd. I promise will publish dates of upcoming shows soon for all of the wonderful people that wanted to know where I’ll be performing next - http://www.ComedianDoc.com. I loved seeing all of my friends that were there and I enjoyed meeting all of my new friends as well. You ALL are great!

Next up was an awards presentation for people, bands and businesses that Arkansas Rockstar Magazine named “Best Of’ for their support and those that were the best at what they do. To see the faces of the award winners of each category was priceless as I called them up and when Arkansas Rockstar Magazine’s own Teresa Hunt handed them their awards. Each award winner was greeted by loud applause from the crowd. To my shock, I found my name on the list as one of 2010’s Best Master of Ceremonies. I want to thank RJ Wells, Teresa Hunt and Arkansas Rockstar Magazine for this honor. I was quite caught off guard and excited about this award… THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

On top of celebrating Arkansas Rockstar Magazine’s 1st year anniversary; there was an acoustic set by Chris Mosier and then 2 of Arkansas' great Rocking Bands Se7en Sharp (http://www.Se7enSharp.com) and The Jay Jackson Band (http://www.JayJacksonMusic.com) that carried perfect jams throughout the night. We were also graced by the beauty of the Arkansas Rockstar Magazine Models and The Caribbean Tan Girls… WOW!!! The 2011 Calendar of the Caribbean Tan Girls is VERY HOT and the ladies were there to autograph them. Did I say WOW!!! I mean WOW!!!

10/31/2010 – Rock n’ Doc Halloween Show @ Front Street Grill, Dardanelle Arkansas

Monti has got to be one of the coolest Venue owners I have ever met. He has Front Street Grill (http://www.frontstgrill.com) setup perfectly for any type of event. Comedy and Bands have always worked well there and the drinks and food are incredible! All of the people that came out were simply a BLAST for the Halloween bash. I enjoyed seeing my friends and meeting new folks as well.

The Halloween night started and ended most AWESOME! The stage and venue was a freaky, funky Halloween setup just right for the night. The night consisted of some comedy style hosting (http://www.comediandoc.com), serious rock with The Meanies (http://www.meanpeoplerule.com) making it a true Meanie Halloweenie, a costume contest with cash and other prizes. We also had a special raffle via Clay Hooten for the infamous Jessie James car, built to outrun police cars on television that was outside Front Street. To top it off, Dr. Shot (Monti) gave out healthy doses / shots of fun! Very Cool!!!

I opened the night with my usual joking around comedy style and prepped everyone for the evening’s activities. I was dressed as a Knight called Sir Doc-A lot that says ‘Na’ instead of ‘Ni’ of the Round’ish table carrying a big ol’ broad sword… wink wink. I was joined by my Pirate Wench, Bekkah… Wowzer!!!

I brought up the band and they ROCKED the stage the way they always do. Charlie Brown (Sharpe Dunaway) was slamming on the drums, Hair Club for Men (Darrell Yates) cranking his axe, Pimp Daddy (Danny Milsaps) showing off his wide range of vocals, Inmate With a Butt Cramp (Matt Hays) rocking with his bass, and the Washed Up Rocker aka Stolen Website Victim (Alan Cost) on keys and Rhythm guitar doing his thing!!! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!! They rocked the dead to life and living to a new level!!!

Next I brought up the costume contestants, first the ladies and wow!!! As always, I infused a bit of comedy as we moved along through the contest. The ladies ranged from a Nun to a hot Mad Hatter (The Winner for the Ladies). The guys ranged from a dead dude to Robin (The Winner of the Men) less Batman. The winners got cash money and Monti showed his class by also giving love to both 2nd and 3rd place winners.

The Meanies took the stage to finish the night and took it to another level. There ended up being another little contest before it was all said and done. Monti and Danny did a shot competition and it was quite staggeringly entertaining. I am betting there were some headaches the next morning… LOL!!!

The night was a GREAT one and won’t be forgotten!

10/17/2010 – Thats a Wrap! Master of Ceremonies and Comedian for Premiere of Jonathan Winters film

I want to thank Erin Jester and Bill Asti for selecting me as the Master of Ceremonies for this event at the Clinton Presidential Center (http://www.clintonpresidentialcenter.org). This was a HUGE honor to present the Documentary film about Jonathan Winters (http://www.jonathanwinters.com) called Certifiably Jonathan (http://www.certifiablyjonathan.com) to over 300 in attendance. To add to this, I had the pleasure to meet the Director Jim Pasternak and Producer Richard Marshall of this FilmDada production. This film was a kick off for the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival (http://www.hsdff.org) on October 15-24th.

“Certifiably Jonathan” is a serious (but not so serious) docu-comedy that weaves in and out of the bi-polar world of Jonathan Winters. It is a brilliant portrait of Jonathan as an artist in every aspect and I know you all will just absolutely love it. The film features an all-star comedy cast of characters, including fellow comics Robin Williams, Rob Reiner, Howey Mandel, Tim Conway, Jeffrey Tambor, Robert Klein, Jimmy Kimmel, Patricia Arquette, Gary Owens, and many more hilarious actor/comedians.

I enjoyed doing some comedy leading up to and after the film along with sharing the podium with some very important people of Arkansas like Skip Rutherford (Clinton School of Public Services - http://www.clintonschool.uasys.edu), Malinda Herr-Chambliss (Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival - http://www.hsdfi.org), Becky Thompson (Arkansas Economic Development Commission / AEDC - http://www.arkansasedc.com) and Christopher Crane (Film Commissioner with AEDC). AEDC is the perfect source for any film maker needing any information for filming in this great state.
The event was centered on the documentary film of Certifiably Jonathan but carried an important message as well regarding Eggshibition XX (http://www.eggshibition.org) on April 1st 2011 that Benefits Youth Home in Arkansas (http://www.youthHome.org). Youth home is an organization that is there for mentally troubled adolescence located in central Arkansas. We are hoping that Jonathan Winters will be providing Eggshibition an artistic / painted egg to be auctioned off at Eggshibition XX (20th year anniversary).

After the film was over, a Q&A session about Certifiably Jonathan was led by Arkansas’ Own Philip Martin (The best film critic I have read) that included Jim Pasternak and Richard Marshall. Great questions were asked from the audience and great answers were given.

At the end of the event, Christopher Crane presented a very nice Arkansas’ Travelers gift to Jim Pasternak and Richard Marshall. What a great wrap up to such a big event.

09/06/2010 - 48 Hour Film Festival Little Rock, Arkansas - What a GREAT experience!!!

What an incredible experience this was indeed. The best part for me was twofold; first was working with other incredibly talented actors and second was the awesome crew. The team I was on included people that I’ve worked with on stage and on films. Some of the films include Anyone, The Conversation and the upcoming film called Blood Red.

We drew the genre of Comedy. The name we had to use was Geoff Cooke, the prop was a tire, and the phrase was ‘Here we go again’. This was a perfect roadmap to a crazy and fun night of filming. We named our comedy short film ‘Rent Party’. We only had 48 hours to write, move to location, setup, film, edit, and render, render, render… did I say render. We picked a location that had a pool and awesome half naked women in bikinis. Oh and It also included a dude with a sweater vest when not even wearing a shirt and I’m not mentioning his name. HA!!! You will have to see the short film to find out. With the GREAT crew and cast, we were on time submitting our entry to the festival.

I got to get my geek on as a character named Dave the Dork. I played opposite of two other kick-awesome comedians (Amy Pannell and Michael Brown) and actors (Ron McDaniel, Leon Tidwell, and Jaimee Jensen.) I went all out with this but not Full Dork… no one goes ‘FULL’ dork. LOL! Dave the Dork ended up getting quite a bit of attention. So much so, I had to buy the domain http://davethedork.com. Several of us pulled double duty with acting and crew duties. Stacy Newman aka Stormy did an incredible job with makeup and putting up with us. Kat and Kevin Yares really brought it and were amazing with the audio / sound. Leon Tidwell manned the camera and nailed the shots. Scott McEntire kicked butt as the director. Amy Pannell, Michael Brown, and Scott McEntire did some bang up writing and made room for fun improv. in the script as well. Chris Wilks and Christina Harrison got their edit on to get our entry on time along with playing extras in the short film. Finally, Angie Woods and Kristie McEntire were also extras in the film and brought the heat in more than one way… wink wink. At the premiers, it was like all of the teams were family. Everyone was complementary and encouraging of each other’s work. All I can say is WOW!!! During the presentation, we were part of group A with 9 other INCREDIBLE short films and teams. I have to say, Arkansas has some serious talent for sure and I could tell right away that the judges were going to have a VERY difficult time with selection. Arkansas’ own, Michael “Doc” Davis in the movies…

I’ve had a most excellent time as a comedian performing live comedy on stages all over and wanted to try my hand at movies. Arkansas has provided me with many opportunities to do so as an actor. I’ve taken on several various roles to test my diversity. My character personalities are very diverse and include: an emotionally shocked /numb ex-boyfriend, a married-too-young frustrated husband, a smart-alec backstabbing businessman, a hungry stoner, a parody-style soap star, a fresh out of prison vengeful ex-husband, and a life-threatened Bio-Hazard guy. The adventure has been challenging at times, but challenges are always welcome. I have discovered a love of acting, producing, and writing films, along with performing live comedy.

More films are on their way from WTF (Way Too Funny) Comedy throughout 2010 – 2011. The 48 Hour Film Festival 2010 in Little Rock, Arkansas will be here in just a couple of weeks. I have a huge announcement coming soon that involves a Hollywood Movie and Stage icon that I’ve watched since I was young. There is a VERY good chance that I may be involved in an event with them. I will announce this as soon as I can make it public. I will continue with acting in film opportunities as they arise throughout the foreseeable future.

I would like to update you about the films that I am currently involved in and what their current statuses are:

Tuckerman (Post Production, Winter 2010 Release, Filmed in Arkansas) – Every man remembers his first true love. As a teenager, Robert Coltman had loved Connie Sutton. Now, as an adult, she’s committed suicide (Or so they say). Returning to his hometown in Tuckerman, Arkansas to investigate, strange occurrences force him to realize: Some memories come back to haunt you. Tuckerman is a feature-length thriller currently being produced by The Film Group, in association with Independent Guerilla and Written and Directed by Jett West. WTF Comedy (http://WTFComedy.com) is all about having fun and not abiding by all of the rules in life. However, when we found out Nathan Harden, long time friend of fellow comedian Tommy Kelley and a fan of WTF Comedy is fighting Cancer, it was time to Rally the crew, friends, family and WTF fans. You bet you’re a$$ that is exactly what we did! WTF Comedy and special guest’s Country singer Shannon Standridge, David Scott, and Singletree's lead singer Jason Campbell (Nashville Signed Country Artist) came together to show some serious love.

There was SO much love and support in the room for Nathan it was hard not to get choked up several different times during the event. After the comedy part was said and done… some of Nathan’s family and friends said a few things as well in appreciation for the packed house.

The WTF Comedians (Michael “Doc” Davis, Chucky D, and Tommy Kelley) got the night started by unloading funny antics, jokes, stories and crazy stuff in the crowd after their sets. Then the music setup the rest of the night with absolute fun, dancing, and more thanks to Jason, David and Shanon. Drinks were flowing as much as the stories from friends, family, and fans all night. Several of the people commented later that this event more than just entertaining, it was absolutely fun. It will be GREAT to see Nathan back in the audience again… keep up the fight, WE LOVE YOU BUDDY!!!

Randy, the Owner of Crosswalk, was heavily involved in making this benefit a great success with drink specials, throwing money in the bucket, and so much more. Grant Yarbrough stepped up to help with lighting and sound… but don’t ask him what is on his phone, it’s un-f’n-believable. I’m just saying. We also had folks taking care of the door collecting donations. A HUGE thanks to Grant Morris (WTF Road Crew) for all of the photos, support, and more. Thanks to Luke Rowland for manning the video camera.

We raised a good amount of money to help with medical expenses that are coming up. Great job everyone and thank you SO much for coming to the show and showing so much support. It was nice seeing all my friends again and making news ones as well.

07/09 – Hosted / Performed at Rock the Wildlife (Audubon Society Benefit) @ Plan B in Conway, Arkansas

Leisa Snyder had the desire to help the wildlife that is being affected by the Gulf Coast disaster by BP (British Petroleum). She decided to make it happen in a big way by raising money for the Audubon Society (http://Audubon.org). This is how Rock the Wildlife was created!!! GREAT JOB Leisa and anyone else that assisted you and thank you for inviting me to be part of it!

I had the honor to share the stage at Plan B (http://MySpace.com/THEPLANBLIVE) in Conway, Arkansas with some the most AWESOME bands from Arkansas. The bands included Between Crows and Thieves (Facebook), The Curse Follows (Facebook), The Muddlestuds(http://MySpace.com/TheMuddlestuds), Eden Crow(http://EdenCrowBand.com), Bombay Black(http://BombayBlackMusic.com), and The Meanies(http://MeanPeopleRule.com).

It was a blast on stage cutting up, doing some stand-up, picking on folks in the crowd (Gunner), running around entertaining people, acting crazy as usual. I got to meet so many great and fun people of all ages and see a lot of old friends too. On a different note, I am sure I burned a disturbing thought in the minds of many with the tank top, but at least I had a shirt under it. By the way, there’s no such thing as Meanie Weenie underwear…. yet. I got to have all that fun while helping raise money for a NEEDED cause. How awesome is that? If you didn’t make it out, you missed a lot.

The sound was incredible thanks to the PA equipment donated by Eden Crow’s Mr. & Mrs. Cowboy and the tweaks / management by Bombay Black’s Ty Sims. Jimmy Shiddartha donated his venue called Plan B for the event and it was a great setup to say the least. The door prizes given away were donated by businesses with big hearts like The Point 94.1, Big rock 93.3, Sync Weekly, Little Rock Live, Bobbie Green, and Triage Music Firm. AWESOME!!!

It may have been a hot and humid day but Freedom Fest 2010 (http://FreedomFestArkansas.com) got things even hotter. The bands ROCKED it out all day. It was a great day to do a benefit for American Cancer Society (http://Cancer.org). The day opened with announcements and a bit of comedy between Comedian and MC Michael “Doc” Davis (http://MichaelDocDavis.com) and MC Blake Woodson (http://Facebook.com/blakewoodson. Doc and Blake brought up the first band Eden Crow (http://EdenCrowBand.com) which ROCKED IT in the mid day heat. Then there were biker games and other entertainment including some water balloon bashing. Bombay Black (http://BombayBlackMusic.com) then took the stage and lit it up with serious butt kicking energy. Doc and Blake gave out some prizes and then held the Ms. Freedom Fest contest. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place won cash and / or prizes provided by Jester’s Entertainment (http://JestersEnt.com). The MC’s continued their comedy fun and even poking fun at each other. It was like a reverse Laurel and Hardy. At this point it was time to bring on McCuin (http://McCuinBand.com)… this band brought deep emotion and incredible music to the stage along with a dedicated song to a 12 year old fighting cancer named Makenna. Doc and Blake began their funny factor once again, making folks laugh and even join in on some of the act. Then the final band The Meanies (http://MeanPeopleRule.com) took and dominated the stage to close out the night and boy did they ever!!! They always have fun and it shows… they were cheered on for an encore and they obliged. It was truly AWESOME ending to the day of bands. The final competition (Wet T-Shirt) was held that was both VERY entertaining and a moment or two of funny. Street Doc and I demonstrated the true coldness of the water by surprising Blake with a gallon of ice water down his back. The ladies looked MUCH BETTER wet than he did!!! The winner of the cash prize donated the money back to the American Cancer Society… She had ‘BIG’ hearts!!! Wink Wink.

Outside of all of the music and entertainment, the other stuff included great food, vendor booths, and the Thunderheads MC booth where a silent auction was held along with a 50/50 drawing, shirts being sold, beads for trade and more. All of the proceeds went to the American Cancer Society. The winner of the 50/50 drawing donated the money back to the American Cancer Society as well.

Doc and Blake were spent after working the event for almost 12 hours. Well worth it. The Thunderheads MC busted their butts maintaining nearly every aspect of the event and did an AWESOME job. The Point 94.1 (http://Point94.1) and Big Rock 93.3 (http://BigRock933.com/) from 2 separate media groups had promoted this event, proving that these media groups will put aside their competitiveness for united front against one enemy and that was cancer!!! This event was truly incredible and inspiring!!!

I had the great honor of being the host and a performer for this great cause… not only that, I also got to bring up the Seth Freeman Band (http://www.sethfreemanband.com/). The show was presented by Iron Cross Kustoms in Russellville, Arkansas and the proceeds benefit Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA). Despite the weather, the show must go on and we did so successfully. There was lots of food (including chicken-cycles), burgers, hot dogs, and more. We had a 50/50 drawing, a bike show / competition (Rat Bike, Import, Domestic, Custom, and Best of Show), and a pie in the face auction. I entertained both on and off stage as always and enjoyed meeting many new friends and reconnected with some old ones as well. It was awesome to hear so many Point 94.1 listeners and folks talking about Un-DOC-Umented news too. FUN TIMES!!! The Seth Freeman Band ROCKED it all day long and a bunch of GREAT guys. The police even showed up and said it sounded GREAT. For the pie auction, we got to see Pitchman (with a p) get pie pie in the pie hole… then it was Buffalo’s turn, and Red Leg’s got nailed as well… at least 2 pie pops had a LOT of feeling behind em… OUCH but HAHA!!! Even with a little sun burn... I didn't feel a thing knowing the event raised awareness and money in the fight against child abuse. Please find a way to help children in abusive or neglectful situations and stop the abuse.

Keep your eyes open for the next event… BACA ROCKS!!! I love these folks!

How often does a community get to see and support their local comedians and for FREE!!! Not often enough is what I say. State of Comedy (http://www.stateofcomedy.com/) proudly presents Underground Comedy, a free night of local comedy. The comedians for the night were Matt Singer, Reagan Dalby, Ben Malone, Michael Mumphrey, Reuben the Meatman, Kendel Renee, Keef, Michael Brown, Randy DeWitt, and myself (Michael “Doc” Davis aka Doc the Comedian). All of these comedians and links to contact them can be found on State of Comedy.

The Point 94.1’s Mike Kennedy and Sharpe Dunaway (http://www.point941.com) were in the house supporting live, local comedy. The Point 94.1 not only ROCK’s to music but ROLL’s to the laughs of comedy!!! They are TRUE supporters of local comedy! You can hear them every afternoon between 3-6PM and I also do Un-DOC-Umented News (http://www.undocumentednews.com) with them every Friday between 5-6PM. Oh yeah… by the way Sharpe, shhhhhh… Bwaaa haaaa haaaaa. Other comedians like Grant Morris were present to support the show.

There was a huge variety in material / performances and it wasn’t any kind of kiddo show for sure. New material and more seasoned but tweaked material was a flying. Laughs, claps, ‘wow he said that’, and more could be heard throughout the night from the audience. I enjoyed bringing up all of the comedians as the host and then performing some new and old material toward the end to help close the night out before I brought on Michael Brown.

It was a GREAT night all around and I had a BLAST! Happy birthday goes out to Pam. I want to thank everyone that came to the show to tell Monday to suck it and get some laughs and also to Bekkah for supporting what I do. See you at the next show.

04/11/2010 - Hosted Kidsfest 2010 for CASA20th - Conway, Arkansas

WOW WOW WOW!!! Kids in the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) 20th Judicial district (http://www.casa20th.org) have some SERIOUS talent. This includes 3 full counties (Faulkner, Van Buren & Searcy). I had the pleasure to share the stage with some kids that sang songs solo and in choirs, ballet dances, funky dance, baton twirling with dance, gymnastics, rocking out in bands and more. It was amazing to see the courage of these kids as they took the stage. There were so many parents along with other adults and kids rooting on the performances on stage. Seeing so many, it was indescribably touching.

BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) – http://www.bacausa.com started out the event sporting their big bikes as the events flag brigade. Everyone watched as they hoisted the flag beginning the event as part of the Child Abuse awareness month.

The event was in a park at the city center of Conway, Arkansas. It was a beautiful location for this event. Outside of the seemingly hundreds of people in and out of the event, there were other organizations supporting children and families that were on site to provide information and answer questions. We even had firefighters from the Conway Fire Department there with an AWESOME fire truck for the kids. OK, I wanted to honk the horn and turn the sirens on too, but I refrained. I did get some cheese dip from Stoby’s, some cotton candy from BACA, then a few snow cones and pizza from Little Caesars… mmmmmm mmmmm.

Although it may be strange to hear of a comedian hosting such a serious event, I am actually a sworn in Court Appointed Special Advocate as well. The event was to remember those kids that didn’t get help in time and raising awareness of the child abuse occurring throughout the world every second. To me, this event was also a celebration of all of the organizations and people that are there for our children. So yes I did do some comedy between acts on stage and cutup with people in the audience. I had a wonderful time and was so glad to be part of it for the second year.

The sound was perfect and made my job waaaaaaaaaaaay too easy.

I had a blast hosting the Texas Hold’em poker tournament that benefited Make a Child Smile (http://makeachildsmile.net, to be rebuilt soon). All of the donations and monies are tax deductable. The tournament was held at the Knights of Columbus hall in Conway Arkansas which was AWESOME on 03/27/2010. Although I didn’t attend Arkansas’ Funniest Person this year so that I could help MACS, I still had just as much fun and it was for a GREAT Arkansas’ Cause.

If you missed this event, you missed a lot. It was great to see so many people there supporting this. The sponsors really stepped up to the plate providing funds, door prizes, food, support, etc. It was VERY touching and impressive to say the least. From what I was told, this event has been steadily growing and growing since it was started. The next event you may want to get in on early. This year’s big prize was $500 and there were prizes for several others.

It was such a huge honor to host this event. I don’t know anything about poker but it was a blast to watch, entertain the folks and help move it along. I got to meet a lot of new people, folks from Facebook (http://facebook.com/comediandoc); I even got to see some old friends too. There was GREAT food, drinks, and more… everything you would need / want, ok almost everything. On top of all that, they gave away door prizes throughout the night.

There were some VERY serious players there that I’m glad we aren’t in the old west because they didn’t like the distractions… hehehe, but I held firm, LMAO!

As always, I was cutting up, acting crazy, being silly and getting as many hugs and handshakes in as I could. I enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to being at the next event.

03/08/2010 – Judging Arkansas' Funniest Person 2 - Little Rock, Arkansas

I had the honor to be a judge in this year’s Arkansas’ Funniest Person contest. Although a co-founder of the event and an original host, I felt it would be better that the winner of last year’s AFP be this year’s co-host. Chucky D did a great job and kept everything flowing alongside Angry Patrick. Despite some small logistical issues, Chucky D and Patrick kept the show moving and entertaining for sure.

I had a blast judging alongside the other judges. Erik Meyers is a national comedian that had me laughing so hard that my stomach and jaws hurt when he closed the night’s contest as the Headliner. The third judge was Jeff Cage.

The layout of the venue added challenges to the contestants but several overcame to prove their drive and desire to win. I have to admit that I wanted to ‘Simon’ a few of the comedians but felt that with the intimidation of a large and at times loud crowd made things difficult enough for some of the less experienced. Getting on a stage is VERY hard to do but a comedian has to own overcome that, hard audiences, and maintain. I fully support all of the comedians that advanced but there was one or two that didn’t make it that I in fact voted high for… This proves that the crowd has a HUGE impact to who advances. There is still a save the comedian option available through online voting. Most of the comedians in AFP can be found on State of Comedy (http://www.stateofcomedy.com). Congratulations to the winners of this week’s competition - KEEFE, JOHN DAVID, CHRIS G and REUBEN THE MEATMAN, and ERIC COUNTS.

I had a great time and I will be present once again for the next preliminary round to root on more Arkansas’ Comedians. Good luck to all of those that will be competing and great job to those that have already.

The WTF Comedians Michael “Doc” Davis, Tommy Kelley, and Chucky D arrived to see and perform at the newly updated Front Street Grill in Dardanelle, Arkansas. The Owner, Monti, has done an incredible job making everything bigger and better. On top of the kick but layout of the Venue, Front Street Grill mixed a special drink just for the occasion to memorialize the show and it was called the WTF Slam. Once you down it, you definitely say… WTF.

The show was a standing room only event that started out with Michael “Doc” Davis serving up new stories, twisted thoughts, and just general craziness along with his catch phrase ‘Get it where you can’. Tommy Kelley took the stage with ‘funny as all geut out’ songs, antics, and engagements with the crowd. From what I was told, Tommy was better than a cold ____. Chucky D closed the show strong as always and had one particular lady almost pee herself. OK, I think I may have peed a little too. By the way, never give Chucky a high five.

It was an honor to have all of the birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions being shared with us. We love ALL of you and thank you SO MUCH for coming to the show. We definitely felt the love from the audience to the stage. We also want to thank you for the INCREDIBLE compliments, hugs, and loven’s.

After the show was done, WE WEREN’T, so we partied the night out. People were buying us drinks and we signed stuff including the people. What a fun and great night of comedy. 02/28/2010 – Chili With a Kick, Youth Home Benefit.

The 1st Annual Chili with a Kick event (http://www.chiliwithakick.com) was a GREAT success! I was deeply honored to be the MC and Announcer for the day. Chili with a Kick is a Big Red Ball Charitable Foundation event that benefited Youth Home (http://www.youthhome.org/) this year. The day went from 9AM till 10PM at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas… Throughout the day I kept on making announcements and spouting out funny stuff for almost 13 hours and it seemed to have just flown by with all of the activities. By the end of the day I was as sunburned and as red as a chili, but glad I didn’t get kicked. The goal of this event was to raise money and awareness for Youth Home and these folks hit their mark.

We had kick ball games going all day, a chili contest with judges and people’s choice winners, bands from all over rocking with incredible sounds, games like flip cup, 4 square, bean bag toss, lots of drinks, GREAT food, and more. There were plaques and trophies handed out to the chili cook-off winners. The kickball tournament final winner had to be determined by sudden death flip cup and both teams presented VERY impressive trophies. I was so touched when I was also presented a beautiful plaque and it blew me away to see my picture and comedy logo on the Jumbotron. The entire day was a BLAST and the LR Kick Ball folks (http://www.lrkickball.com/) are too freakn’ fun, funny, and just plain ol’ great people. I wanted to point out a VERY special person that worked her butt off and that is Erin Jester! That girl did an INCREDIBLE job along with all of the other volunteers.

02/07/2010 - LoveFest 2010 with Doc The Comedian, The Meanies and Eden Crow

A HUGE thanks goes out to EVERYONE that came out to Love Fest to have fun, find gifts for Valentines, getting your laughs on and ROCKING OUT! Without all of you supporting local comedy, music and entertainment it wouldn’t exist. A big Happy 25th birthday goes out Brad the rooster, he knows who he is.

Wade Ledbetter aka The Jester (Jester’s Entertainment – http://www.jestersent.com) did a great job putting this event together. There was a diverse collection of vendor booth’s to shop from like: Body Design Boutique, Passion Parties by Dori, M&T Imports, Jester’s Entertainment, McCuin, Jewelry by Michelle, Amerinails Nail Salon, Arkansas Custom Jewelry, Graffiti Graphics, Oxygen Bar, Pampered Chef and other booths. The event was at the Metroplex in Little Rock, Arkansas off of I430.

The Thunderheads were there taking care of security and in their booth they had raffles for prizes and money. They were also promoting the upcoming event, Freedom Fest 2010 that will benefit the American Cancer Society on June 5th. Arkansas’ Freedom Fest 2009 was an awesome event last and I had a blast doing some comedy and then busted out the Doc Cam. The event made for some pretty impressive video. I had a great time from both on and off stage making folks laugh and smile and even turn a bit red, doing some comedy and from my crazy antics. I really believe that life is so much better with laughter; it really is the best medicine along with Captain Morgan or Jack Daniels. I didn’t realize that some folks were so scared of things with batteries. LMAO! Ty Sims (from Bombay Black - http://www.bombayblackmusic.com), Cowboy (Eden Crow) and Mrs. Cowboy were incredible with the sound as always. Any event with these kick ass rockers working sound. lights or on stage jamming, will be an INCREDIBLE musical and lighting event.

Those Renegades of Rock, EDEN CROW kicked off the night’s music with some awesome energy. They got the crowd stirred up moving and grooving with their hands in the air and heads rocking. These guys are ALWAYS ON!!! If you want to know more about them or where they are next just go to http://www.edencrowband.com. Next up was the headliner band and BEST 80’s band that you will EVER hear ANYWHERE! That’s right… The boys that make the noise…. THE MEANIES took the stage. I watched people stop in their steps and were in complete awe from the pure, deep, powerful ROCK & ROLL pouring from the stage. The Meanies always brings the heat. We gave away ALL KINDS of prizes from the booths and other vendors. I’ll just say this; there were some people that were very happy to get out of having to buy Valentines gifts.

Then the night’s festivities ended when I had the pleasure to auction off local celebrities with each winner getting a dinner for two or one and a group. The first to be auctioned off was an entire band, one of Arkansas’ greats, McCuin – http://www.mccuinband.com, ok it was the two guys that were still standing and kind of sober. The winner was giddy with joy (I couldn’t think of another word for the winner’s reaction). Then to the shock and excitement of several people, we auctioned Mr. 5.5, Pro Wrestler and Actor, Matt Riviera with a net worth of 5.5 million dollars (http://www.mattriviera.com). The winning lady was EXTREMELY HAPPY… I mean EXTREMELY and she looked a little warm, hmmmmm. Next up is the newest Jester’s Girl, Miss Tiffany, she said she was actually offered a spot in Playboy and turned it down. She was also the winner of the 2009 Vampire Ball sexiest costume contest by Jester’s Entertainment. She will be seen on Speed Vision coming soon as the Trophy Girl at I30 Speedway along with other publications.

01/02/2008 - New Years Eve Party @ West End with The Meanies

I had an absolute blast at West End (http://www.westendsmokehouse.net) for the 2010 New Year Celebration. Bekkah and I started out eating some of that ALWAYS great food when we got there. Some of my other buddies were upstairs at Seki Sui eating Sushi and stuff. Apparently Danny, the lead singer of The Meanies, tried Sushi but he seemed to have been thinking more along the lines of, ‘Why am I putting fishing bait in my mouth?’. LMAO!

All of a sudden people filled West End quickly and it was standing room only. Seeing my friends everywhere and chatting, hugging and stuff was a perfect way to celebrate the new coming year. The table I was sitting at, a covered pool table, was full of my friends and acquaintances which made everything so much better. On a different note, it was a little awkward seeing Chris and Grant doing what they called a ‘Gay Off’. I wasn’t able to get over to Crown Plaza to say sup to Jeff Allen while he hosted the big Point 94.1(http://thepoint941.com) New Year’s Eve party, but I did hear that the party was kick’n! I wouldn’t expect anything less from the ‘Eye Master’.

It was finally that time… The projector started and poof a little pre-show intro made by that crazy and funny Sharpe Dunaway with voice over work from his son Quint Dunaway… it was hilarious. The Meanies (http://www.meanpeoplerule.com) took the stage, threw out cool shirts and ROCKED the night into submission. The Meanies then counted down to 2010 while West End provided complimentary champagne, hats, beads and horns (that the inebriated people LOVED). 3, 2, 1… The horns started blowing, stuff being thrown everywhere, handshakes, hugs and kisses. Yep that’s right I got my New Year’s kiss from the most awesome Bekkah.

Happy New Year EVERYONE!!! I’m ready to entertain and just have fun this year… see you all soon. I’ll be hosting Love Fest 2010 at the Clear Channel Metroplex February 6th and performing at the Loony Bin February 17th to the 20th. Come on out and have some laughs. 12/28/2009 - Tuckerman Film Update

Many of you have asked, ‘When will the movie's filming be complete?’. Well we are almost done. I had a run in with a haircut that altered my appearance a bit too much so we have to wait it out a little. I carried a photo with me every time I went to get it cut the same and for some reason it didn't work this time. Being the main character in the movie, I have to appear the same throughout the film. We only have about 5 more scenes to shoot and poof we are done with the filming part. We are hoping to be complete with all filming by end of January and latest Mid February.

Production will begin directly after final scenes and possibly a little extra shooting and voice overs may be needed. This is a full Feature film so it's quite a bit of effort. We are hoping for the BIG premier around early summer 2010.

12/18/2009 – Dancing Christmas Lights in Conway, Arkansas for Make a Child Smile

I had the privilege of doing my comedy news set, Un-DOC-Umented News ( http://www.undocumentednews.com), live from a Remote with The Point 94.1’s Sharpe Dunaway ( http://www.thepoint941.com) at the Brighter’s house ( http://www.brightersofconway.com) in Conway, Arkansas. The light show benefits the organization ‘Make a Child Smile’ (www.makeachildsmile.net) located in Conway, Arkansas. Stromboli's ( http://www.conwaydining.com/restaurant.php?id=125) was also there from Conway, Arkansas making sure that we all stayed warm with hot apple cider and a snack of Cannoli’s… YUM!!!

I could really feel the Christmas spirit when watching four houses connected together with Christmas lights dancing, blinking and flashing to music. The lights moved to songs from Trans-Siberian Orchestra ( http://www.trans-siberian.com) and The Screaming Santa’s. When you pull up to be amazed, you can listen to the music on the FM station listed on the signs as you approach. It was so moving, inspiring and uplifting that could change ANY ‘Bah Humbug’ to a ‘MERRY Christmas to all’. Tony Brighter said that even more houses would be involved in next year’s dancing of the lights. This single night raised a good amount of money but more is always needed. A huge WOW happened when an anonymous donation in an unmarked envelope was presented. How is that for Christmas giving and spirit? I love making people laugh and smile and the ‘Make a Child Smile’ organization is a great way to bring a smile to the face of child. The organization’s mission statement is ‘Building self-esteem and confidence in the children of Faulkner County and Central Arkansas by providing them the necessary and simple pleasures every child deserves.’ You can be a part of this mission by going to their website and see how you can help - http://www.makeachildsmile.net.

Sharpe Dunaway and Chuck Gatlin from The Point 94.1 were there adding that extra flair to the event as they always do. It’s always great seeing how radio stations of Signal Media make a true difference in our state. Sharpe’s crazy antics and joking around added to the cheer and always keeps me laughing. By the way Sharpe is also the drummer for the Screaming Santa’s, which CD’s are available.

Strumboli’s walked up to every vehicle and gave them some hot apple cider and canoli’s that brought a warm smile to each person. EVERYTHING screamed Christmas in the most joyful of ways!!!

Before the night was over, guess who showed up. SANTA!!! He was sporting a bright red Chevy Silverado King Cab that had antlers and Christmas lights along the bed. With a hearty HO HO HO and saying Hello to Sharpe. Sharpe’s face looked as if he was saying ‘See Doc, I knew I was even famous in the North Pole too’…

I wanted to say thanks to the Brighter’s for such a GREAT experience, Jessica from Make a Child Smile for braving the cold, Sharpe and Chuck from The Point 94.1 for spreading the fun and the funny for the holidays and Un-DOC-Umented News (http://www.UnDocumentedNews.com), the Stauffer’s from Stromboli's for the GREAT Apple Cider and Cannoli’s and last but NOT least to Santa!

12/12/09 – Angry Patrick’s 40th Birthday Roast @ Juanita’s in Little Rock

That’s right Patrick Beam aka Angry Patrick turned 40 again and is much closer to retirement. I (Doc the Comedian) had the honor to be the Roast Master… Seeing Patrick’s face when he looked out across the crowd of all the people there to wish him a happy birthday was priceless. Patrick had a VERY hard time maintaining the Angry face. I had a blast helping Patrick’s wife Debbie coordinate this thing and she kicked some butt. The setup was perfect with all of the comedians on the stage with slide shows and audio. The roasters included Corey & Jay, Blake Woodson, Matt Baker, Stacie Mack, Josie D, Chucky D, JoePepsi, John David, Reuben the Meatman, Michael Brown, Eric Counts, Jason Thompson and me (Michael “Doc” Davis).

Corey and Jay from the Edge 100.3 sent in an audio file and got poor Patrick a bit misty… but I heard he’s not the one that wears the pants in the family anyway… what a girl. Blake ‘Eeyore-Eddie-Panfish-Pug’ Woodson wasn’t at the show because he was broadcasting on his CB Radio, but I read the letter he sent to Patrick… I had to wake Patrick up like 3 times. Stacie was supposed to be there too, but was late as usual. However, she made her presence known later in the night and gave it hell on stage. Matthew Baker had a cool video / slide that brought to light some things about Patrick that were absolutely hilarious… he did an excellent job.

The roasters came up one at a time throwing one zinger after another. Most of the panel included all-stars, finalist and even the winner of Arkansas’ Funniest Person. Patrick got smaller and smaller as the panel pummeled him with punch-line punches. Josie scared us all with discussions of some of her 70 year old body parts. Although there were a couple of comedians that either couldn't make it or bailed due to fear of the roast, hehehe - jk, The panel was full of serious talent and turned out to be a better panel than first planned. It was great to have a show just having good fun, making jokes, pokes and jabs. Nobody's feelings got hurt as far as I know, haha. Drama free shows are always GREAT! Michael Brown kicked some serious butt and in fact made it VERY hard on the rest of us. He rocked the podium and gave Patrick a SERIOUS what for… hehehe. Chucky D , Eric, and Jason took turns reminding Patrick why he should be more of a host, or maybe a lil’ feature act or something. Reuben, John David, and JoePepsi got their jabs in to make it a very well rounded slam. I got my pokes in too, making some fun of the fact that we all had to pay to be at a Birthday party and stuff.

The next part of the show was open mic for anyone who wanted to say a little something about ‘lil Patrick. Mike Woodall came up and gave Patrick an Idiots Guide to Comedy, bwaaaa haaaa. Then Patrick’s brother Brandon Beam went on stage representing the family and OMG!!! Family secrets are so funny. Poor ‘lil’ Patrick, and what I mean is Patrick is ‘Little’ when it comes to endowment according to his family (poor Debbie). Patrick’s face turned red more times than I had ever seen it before, including when he has “tried” to perform on stage. Lastly Julius, a listener, came up and shared some love and funny too.

The show came to a close with Patrick having the FINAL word, and we all found out very quickly why they call him Angry, and that he deserves the title. I left the event with a lot less butt… hehehe. Patrick brought it hard (well we would not have known) just like always. Kick-butt job Patrick.

A final toast to the birthday boy who no longer likes Patron… thanks to a “visual yell” behind Juanita’s on a different night… hehehe.
The night ended with Stereo Down taking the stage and ROCK ROCK ROCKING it… What a perfect ending.

12/07/09 - FREE Sticky Fingerz Comedy Night

WHAT!!! That's right a FREE night of comedy with 10 local comedians. FREE FREE FREE!!! I couldn't sleep because it was such a fun night and wrote this blog. 10 of some of Arkansas' fun and funniest comedians performed for the love of comedy to kick Monday's butt at Sticky Fingerz (http://www.stickyfingerz.com). Yours truly, Doc the Comedian, was the host of this event and one of the comedians. It was a great way to bust out of those Monday blues and that we did! The Comedians included Larry D, Ben Malone, Reagan, Reuben the Meatman, Mike Brown, Kendel Renee, Julio, Michael "Doc" Davis aka Doc the Comedian and Chucky D. The comedians ranged from newer comedians to veterans. There were Arkansas' Funniest All-Stars, The winner of AFP, Finalist from the recent Loony Bin Comedy Contest and more... We all tried out new stuff for fun and more seasoned material as well. We had a blast and there were laughs all night.

It was a great pleasure to introduce all of these comedians along with stage departure comments in my own special way. I had equal fun doing my performance. I shared my experiences of driving around doing shows with my observations and even some crazy crap from a Jiffy Lube Jerry Springer event. Just remember that technology isn’t all that it's cut up to be, haha. I do love Arkansas and all of the people in it.

It was incredible to get so much support for Local Comedy from both local folks and folks from out of state. If it wasn't for them, these shows would not be possible at all. It was pretty freakn' awesome to see The Loony Bin Comedy Club (http://www.loonybincomedy.com/) staff there supporting and showing the love... they are wonderful people. We even had other local comedians come and show support too like Grant, Tony, Ray-De-Oh and Lavantor. KJ King was also in the house showing support. It was a packed house.

A big thanks to Kendel for coordinating the event for us to get our comedy thing on. Thanks to Chris King for providing the Venue / stage for the show. The wait staff kicked some serious butt and didn't act like it was Monday at all. A big thanks to Bekkah, Sharpe, Perry, Blue, Grant, Mandy, Jeff, Tony, Shaun, Derick, Christy, Steve, Carla for coming out to the show and others that I am sure I missed and I'm sorry if I did... Still love ya and stuff.

With this sort of turn out, I'm sure there will be another show. I’ll see you at the next one.

11/28/09 - Doc was in The Loony Bin w / James Johann & Susanna Lee

What an incredible week of comedy and a fun way to end a holiday. I had the honor to perform at The Loony Bin Comedy Club in Little Rock, Arkansas with some of the funniest national talent I have ever performed with. The comedians were Headliner James Johann (http://www.Jamesjohann.com) “The Rural Genius” and Feature Susanna Lee (http://www.susannalee.com). James brought his insights and life’s reflections to the stage which kept me laughing every single show. He brought something different to each of the shows and ended them with just as much energy as he started with. Susanna was simply incredible!!! She also reflected on some of life’s experiences along with some extremely hilarious perspectives and even some dancing. Between James and Susanna, my stomach muscles are still sore as all get out. I also brought my flavor of comedy to the stage about local observations and some audience interactions, that’s right ‘a twist of Doc’. Everyone kept pointing at each other and laughing at many of the stories they related to. I have to admit that some of the audience made my job VERY easy (like a dude wearing a priest shirt / collar, catholic school girl skirt and heals), Wow!!! First thing that came to mind was that he molests himself… but I guess, don’t we all… hehehe.

The Loony Bin staff was awesome!!! They took very good care of me and the other comedians and the audience. No one was EVER left wanting, GREAT food, drinks, service and it was a very comfortable atmosphere. You need to visit this place, GREAT PLACE AND PEOPLE! The Point 94.1 Turkey Drop - They Went EVERYWHERE, Bombs away from Doc!!!

What a GREAT event!!! Turkeys DROPPED from a Helicopter!!! The Point 94.1's Sharpe Dunaway and Mike Kennedy that created and coordinated the event. I was the fly guy dropping turkeys. Thanks to Bale Honda as the location sponsor, Colonial Wines & Spirits as the Title Sponsor and The Meat Shop for supplying the soon to be dropped turkeys. This was a keep what you catch event.

That’s right Michael "Doc" Davis (3rd person reference, haha) had the honor of ejecting 94.1 turkeys from a helicopter at about 300 feet over the sales lot of Bale Honda in Little Rock, Arkansas. The pilot and I approached Bale Honda like in the scene from Apocalypse Now with that song in my head (The Ride Of The Valkyries) and there was a big crowd of targets, I mean Point 94.1 listeners, waving from the ground. Then we made our attack run (I mean fly over) and launched the attack!!! Fire ONE (Gobble Bomb AWAY!!!) I have to say, after seeing all the feathers floating all over from that first drop made me a little nervous about my accuracy. On top of that, the kids got a hold of the first drop and tore it apart and I mean APART, scattering feathers all of the asphalt or turkey target area, I mean landing zone. OH THE HUMANITY!!! I got over it quickly as I started looking for more targets and one after another; DROP DROP DROP, pass after pass, until we were out of ammunition... or WERE WE!!! After faking a retreat, we turned back from the horizon and launched another volley of gobblers. The crowd of Point 94.1 listeners appeared to have had a blast. I know I did! 2009 Halloween Events – Comedian Michael Doc Davis at Saline-O-Ween, West End's Costume Contest / Party and Comedy Bingo

I have to admit that this had to be the most incredible and fun Halloween weekend I've ever had.

Pardon my grammar… LOTS of stuff to cover…

Friday started out with a visit from a friend that I hadn't seen in a while and I tell you what… that was some GREAT visiting. I love the holidays!

1st - Saline-O-Ween – Benton, Arkansas: Saturday started out when I hit the stage to do a comedy set in the morning at Saline-O-Ween - http://www.salineoween.com in Benton, Arkansas. This was an outside event that was 100% family friendly with all kinds of stuff to do. The event benefited an organization called Within Reach - http://www.withinreachinc.org (Helps Youth that are Homeless). What a great job by all of those that put the event together. It was an honor to perform for such a great cause. From the stage I made some observational jokes about stuff like the folks doing ‘Tator’ sack races… ON ASPHALT! At first I didn’t think it was a good idea. Then I realized it was hosted by a local Boy Scout troop… I think they were after First Aid badges, funny stuff. It wasn’t as funny as the dude I saw later that was wearing a Batman costume that he likely bought 80 pounds ago. He had a smaller dude with him wearing the Robin outfit… that’s right… FATMAN and BOBBIN… hehehe. I did met some great people at the event for sure… some that I had only talked to via Facebook and stuff. Of course The Point 94.1 (http://www.point941.com) was there supporting our causes. See you all again next year.

2nd - West End’s Costume Contest / Party - Little Rock, Arkansas: Saturday Nights Halloween Costume Contest and Party was freakn’ at West End (http://www.westendsmokehouse.net) was awesome! I was the host and comedian for the night for the second year in a row. I enjoyed doing my comedy set throughout the contest and I had a BLAST!!! I went as the Lucky Charmer… I had a hat on with clovers that said, ‘I’m Magically Delicious’, Green shades with clovers on the lenses, a necklace made of lucky rabbits feet, lucky charms around my belt, a mistletoe ball above my belt (which everyone played with) and a role of lucky pennies in my pocket (hehehe). It paid off… I got lots of luck smooches from the ladies and LOTS from the very lovely Victoria. The contest was awesome with sexy, funny, scary and ‘what the’ costumes. They included the tempting eve’s (Amber with the broke duct tape tail snake) with apple, sexy bees, sexy cops, NO SCHOOL GIRL costumes… hehehe, the d_ck in a box guys, snipers, pirates, f’n pirates, snipers, smurf’s, blind SEC refs and last but not least… the winner of $500 (Head on a silver platter) with I renamed to divorce… hehehe. The Meanies ROCKED (http://www.meanpeoplerule.com) the entire night… AWESOME AWESOME!!! They are the absolute best 80’s and more cover band anywhere. To all the folks that made it out and stuff… you guys are AWESOME! Thank you for all of the kind comments about the show too… WOW!!! I wish I would have had more shirts to throw out. Thanks to West End and their wait staff, The Meanies, the Contestants, friends, fans… even some of my co-stars from the Tuckerman movie present . I love you ALL!!!

Lastly - Comedy Bingo at Maumelle Park, Little Rock, Arkansas: This was the last event of the weekend and on Sunday afternoon. That’s right I was at a corporate event in Maumelle park playing games, chatting and then doing what I call comedy bingo. I had WAY too much fun with this… I was calling numbers and doing a comedy set at the same time… hehehe… how fun. I have to admit that some of the prizes made these folks take the bingo games VERY serious… but not as serious as people at an old folks home I called numbers for once, just ask me and I’ll tell ya’ the story. I have to say that the company that put this event on knows how to PARTY!!! This was a family friendly event with rides, food, games, climbing walls, more food, prizes and music… I had a blast and gained 10 pounds… hehehe.

How was all this for an eclectic weekend!!!

2009 Halloween - Saline-O-Ween, West End Costume Contest / Party, Bingo...

I have to admit that this was one of the funnest Halloweens I've had EVER!!! This one will live on in my memories.

The weekend started with seeing a friend I hadn't seen in a long time.

Saturday Morning was the beginning of the events for the weekend. I arrived at Saline-O-Ween in Benton, Arkansas and performed on their stage in a coat and sunglasses. Yepper an outside stage... it was very cool in both sinces of the word. First observation was 'Tator' sack races going on while I was on stage... the funny part was they were doing it on concrete... I was thinking that there wasn't a lot of thought put into this... then I realized it was a Boy Scout troupe putting it on... 'AHA!!! First Aid Badges' I had a great time, did my show... met ALOT of people, vendors other performers, etc... What a GREAT coordinated event. My hats off to all of those that put it on.

10/03/2009 – Chaos in Conway Comedy Show – Conway Supper Club - Conway, Arkansas

Up to Conway we go while the Arkansas Razorbacks were playing and the crowd still showed up in numbers. It looked like a family reunion in the front row of the venue… I found out that it kind of was for Jim Pate. The owners and wait staff took very good care of everyone and the food is ALWAYS great at this place.

The lineup for this night was myself (Michael Doc Davis or Doc the Comedian), Jim Pate (With Family) as Feature and Eric Counts as the Headliner. It was so awesome to see friends in the audience laughing the entire show through. We even had other comedians in the audience; Jason Thompson, Patrick Beam and Chucky D. Some of the film crew and my co-stars of the movie Tuckerman were there as well. Even Sharpe Freakn’ Dunaway (One of my Best Bud’s) from The Point 94.1 was there…

I took the stage and riled up the crowd with a bit of fire under me and callbacks from a previous shows at the Supper Club. I threw out double-entendre jokes, a bit of shock humor, stab’s at some of the oxymoronic stuff we all see around here and more. It was awesome seeing the crowd have such a good time. I then introduced Conway’s own Jim Pate as the Feature (2008 Maryland Comedian of the Year). Jim unloaded a flurry of jokes, jabs, pokes and perfect pauses so some of us could catch up… The crowd and family LOVED his style almost as much I did. You should really go out and see him do his comedy. Next up was Eric Counts and he wasted no jumping right in and gave none of anytime to rest from the laughter that ensued. He talked about family, friends, some of us and stuff that caught me completely off guard and I think made me fart a little. LMAO.

Some of the comments we received were, "that was an incredible show", "Jim’s Ninja Foot… OMG", "Doc, The Eyebrow thing… dude I’ll never look down again", “Eric needs to let people breath from laughing or he will kill someone”, "Doc, The gas station joke you did was a perfect ending, several of those are near where I live", "Jim Pate better do more shows here, he was awesome", "Eric is so damn cute", “Doc, that was the best I seen you ever perform along with the rest of the show” and many more! 10/02/2009 - Beer Drinking Buddies Comedy Show – Eden Park - Pine Bluff, Arkansas

What a fun fun show… Pine Bluff’s Eden Park and their staff have proven once again why we call them a premium place for entertainment. In honor of our Headliner Chucky D (Arkansas’ Funniest Person), Eden Park had 3 drinks that were Chucky D Special’s (i.e. Chuckarita and 2 others). I looked on the food menu to see if they had a Chucky D special too and the first item was ‘White Mexican Cheese Dip’… LMAO.

The lineup for this night was myself (Michael Doc Davis or Doc the Comedian), Tommy Kelley as Feature and Chucky D as Headliner. I took the stage to the song ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ and got the crowd stirred up with double-entendre comedy, some thinkers and a dash of shock humor. It was awesome seeing the crowd have such a good time. I then introduced Tommy Kelley (Arkansas’ Funniest Person Finalist) to the stage with the song ‘Highway to Hell’ playing in the background. Tommy pumped out joke after joke and the crowd responded with some tears of laughter, clapping and big chuckles. His redneck / blue collar style of comedy was genuinely funny. Next up was Pine Bluff’s own Chucky D, known by his friends in Pine Bluff as Charlie Boy. I introduced him with the song ‘Whatever You Like’. Chucky immediately commanded the stage and gave the crowd a show that only Arkansas’ Funniest Person Winner could do. He talked about past relationships, Nana, Tommy and I, did some dancing and more to make the PERFECT cap for the night.

After the show was over, the INCREDIBLE people of Pine Bluff hung out with us and we all had our own little after party. WHAT A BLAST!!! I haven’t laughed so hard in a LONG time. Some of the comments we received were, "Best show so far", "You guys seem like you have performed together forever", "Perfect flow", "Love the Nana", "The country song of Tommy's was hilarious", "Please come back soon", "Doc you just ain't right", "Chucky D looked to comfortable in that" and many more! Go on down there October 24th for their Spooktacular… I heard it is going to be a BLAST!

2009 West End (Little Rock, Arkansas) Real Guitar Hero Contest with The Point 94.1

How fun was this!!! The Point 94.1 team was there in numbers to support Arkansas’ Local Talent, truly showing The Point’s desire to be there for our entertainment communities. Sharpe Dunaway hosted while Jennifer Trafford was one of the Judges and Chuck the Promo Guy taking care of the score totals.

About three guitar players into the show, some dude got on stage and interrupted it to let everyone know that Beyonce’ music video was the best of all time… OK, fine it was me… hehehe. As folks boo’d and laughed me off the stage, I made my exit and the show continued. I really did have a GREAT time and I appreciate all the great people that were there. The results will be posted of the contest on The Point 94.1’s website at http://www.kkpt.com. I will likely be back at West End for the finals next week on September 25th rocking it out again.

After the contest was over, Jason Greenlaw and his band The Groove took the stage and ROCKED the rest of the night out. If you EVER EVER get the chance to hear Jason and his crew do their thing… you REALLY need too. We were all moving, jamming and singing along (ok, I wasn’t singling along very well)!

West End Smokehouse bar and grill is always a great place to have fun, food and drinks so don’t miss out.

Helping Neighbors Food Pantry Charity Comedy Show - Jonesboro, Arkansas

What a great night of Comedy!!! Chuck Kirkindall (Meatloaf / Meatball) opened the show and did some funny stuff and outed his family on stage (HAHAHA) and then he brought up Amy Pannell where she got the crowd stirred up and going. Michael Doc Davis / Me came up next and enjoyed getting my comedy on, playing with the crowd, throwing shirts, doing birthday dances and more… mwaaa haaaaa haaaa. Michael Brown killed with his impersonations and comedy styling’s. Chucky D closed the night with his hilarious antics and self reflections of family and relationships. It was fun as always to share the stage with these comedians. WHAT A GREAT LINE UP for a GREAT Cause!!! (Helping Neighbors Food Pantry - 900 W Huntington Ave Jonesboro, AR 72401 (870) 935-7298)

I was told that the Forum / Theater had a crowd of over 400. Seeing them stand, clap, cheer and laugh was truly incredible. Honestly, I still feel a bit high from the rush. The people in Jonesboro are AWESOME and I can’t wait to see them again and hopefully sooner rather than later.

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to those that have one during a year, hehehe. I’m betting there are a couple of folks in Jonesboro that will be reliving the moment from the show through photos and family stories for a LONG TIME!!! Mwaaaa haaaaa haaaaa.

Little Rock's 48 Hour Film Festival Awards Night!!!!

Congratulations to the ALL of the teams of the Little Rock 48 Hour film festival. Big congrats to Teams of the films Homing, Stepped On and Soma 2.0 (Friends - of mine were in em' or part of the crew, Rick Morgan and Will Koberg in Homing, Kelly Griffin in Stepped On and Wally Waller in Soma 2.0). Combined the teams won several awards and were nominated for even more. A big congrats to Will Koberg that was also nominated for Best Actor, GREAT Acting DUDE (btw he's does comedy too!!!).

What a GREAT night!!! Every team did INCREDIBLE and Every Film I saw was very impressive! Arkansas has some serious talent in Film Making and I look forward to working with them in the future. I hope to be a part of next years event as well.

The first Ham and Jam (Comedy and Music) benefit for BACA – SUCCESS!!!

WOW WOW WOW!!!!

It’s me again… Michael “Doc” Davis (www.comediandoc.com) and I wanted to tell you what an honor it was to help coordinate, promote, host and be the opening comedian for the first Ham and Jam (Comedy and Music) event to benefit BACA(Bikers Against Child Abuse). This was some serious fun and for a great cause. BACA came out in big numbers (not talking about Mr. 55) along with supporting Bikers from all over. Many others were in attendance as well that brought the event to a standing room only show. The event was so incredible and moving, it took a lot of effort to not drop a tear on many occasions. Seeing all of the people there for entertainment and helping in the fight against child abuse and its affects was unexplainable. I hope someone got a photo or two of the crowd.

Congratulations go out to the winner of the 50/50 drawing and the winner of the grill. The person pulling the tickets was just bust’ing out with happiness to help even though someone had to put their glasses on to read the tickets, hahaha. I don’t think he wanted to mess up is ability for distance focus… wink wink. Great comedy, music, food, drinks and SO much more!!! If you weren’t there, then you missed a lot!!! The event was only $8.00 for 5 Top comedians and an AWESOME band, the possibility to win prizes, dance the night away… and top to it off… you helped in the fight against child abuse. 100% of the proceeds benefited BACA to aid in their fight against child abuse and it’s affects.
I knew this was a great cause and I knew people would come and support, but what I imagined still didn’t come close to the incredible turnout and support. This started out as a little idea that I had of Comedy and Music together that I called the Ham and Jam… and POOF!!!! Standing room only!!! I can only hope that we all can make a positive difference in kid’s lives that had the misfortune of being abused or neglected.

A huge thanks goes out to awesome, unbeatable, promotional radio work of The Point 94.1 (www.kkpt.com), BACA and Supporters, MacDaddy’s and staff, all of the people that came to enjoy the show, all of the other comedians that included (Tommy Kelley – www.comediantommykelley.com , Angry Patrick – www.angrypatrick.com, Jason Thompson – www.comedianzone.com/comedians/jasonthompson and Chucky D – www.comedianchuckyd.com), the Negative 5 band that included (JJ Weaver, Dena Giessmann, Terry Rhoades, Ben Johnson, Scott Smith, Matthew Harward, Scott Aclin).

The Doc and Rock connection at West End (M&M Show)

The show at West End was outstanding!!! Blake Woodson and I opened the show with a little comedy boxing match. Blake was a good sport and I have to admit Blake lends himself well to comedy or at least the punch lines… hehehe. I’m just kidding Blake, sorry about the KO.
As always, Blake and I brought up the energy level and found there were 7 different birthdays, 1 divorce celebration, 3 anniversaries and during half time… OMG and a wedding proposal on stage that we ALL were thinking the woman was going to say no. However, after asking 3 times in front of 200’ish people she finally said yes. Shortly after, I even had the chance to creatively use a glow stick as a special ring of attention… mwaaaa haaaa haaaa.
McCuin (McCuinBand.com) rocked out with their originals and some cover songs. I love bringing these guys on the stage. Blake and I then had the pleasure of bringing up The Meanies and they ROCKED US out with killer covers of the 80’s and showed yet again that they ARE the boys that make the noise.Before it was all over and just after mid-night, Blake did an interruption of the show so we could wish happy birthdays to all that were having them and especially two long time friends Darrell Yates (lead guitar of The Meanies) and Leslie Bingham. Cup Cakes were brought out by the Manager Chris with trick candles (great job on the selection of the cup cakes Pam and Chree). Leslie and Daryl blew each other……………………………….s candles out. Awwwwwwwww and stuff. Oh yeah… with this many birthdays on the same day… their parents must have been BUSY the winter before… hehehe
The night closed with a BIG Bang. A big thanks to Grant, these are some AWESOME cigars. It was good to see all of my friends and friends of the bands. West End’s staff were awesome, never had to be thirsty once. LOVE LOVE LOVE West End… I’ll be performing there with The Meanies on Halloween this year again so I hope to see you there.
BTW, the after party was a blast… and that’s all I will say about that…. 07/18/09 - A Docs Visit to the Conway Supper Club – Conway, Arkansas

I had the pleasure of performing with some of the Funniest People in Arkansas at the Conway Supper Club in you guessed it… Conway. Being part of The Anger Mis-Management Comedy Tour is an incredible experience and I enjoy every part of it. Performing with the guys on the tour is a blast and the lineup included myself (Michael “Doc” Davis), Michael Brown, Tommy Kelley and Angry Patrick. By the audience response after show, I believe it was a GREAT success.

The staff of the Conway Supper Club ROCKED!!! No one was left wanting or thirsty. What a great venue for Comedy. Even though this is the last stop of the tour at the Conway Supper Club for 2009… we have 2 regular comedy shows planned there, so stay tuned.

I wanted to thank everyone that came out despite the car wreck on I40 that backed traffic up for miles. To see what all happed, go out and take a look at the photos from the show and as you can tell it was a party in itself.

As you know I sign shirts and what not… just fyi, if you have a boy friend or husband… please don’t ask me to sign you… and that one husband… ummm I’m not going to sign you either… again.

What a GREAT Comedy night at Eden Park, Pine Bluff Arkansas

The night was a blast and Pine Bluff showed their love for local entertainment in force at the incredible location called Eden Park in Pine Bluff Arkansas (http://www.edenparkclub.com). We setup the place for one kick butt rock and roll comedy show. The Anger Mis-Management Comedy tour heated up the night quickly as I (Michael "Doc" Davis) took the stage starting off with the introduction of Eden Park's 2 new 'Doc-Aholic' drinks called the Angeritta and the Angry Punch. I did my comedy thing and had a blast and loved the interaction from the crowd... Thank you all for the great comments and feedback. It's because of you and your laughs are why we are able to do what we do.

The talent consisted of Michael “Doc” Davis that you can hear on The Point 94.1 hanging out with Sharpe Dunaway and Mike Kennedy. Also, an Arkansas' Funniest Person All-Star, Jose De (a 70 year old Pine Bluff Native) that the crowd simply adored. Next up was one of the Top 3 Finalists of Arkansas' Funniest Person, Jason Thompson, he will be leaving to give comedy relief to our troops in Iraq and he showed his incredible talent to Eden Park and they surrendered their laughs. Chucky D (Another Pine Bluff native), The winner of Arkansas’ Funniest Person for 2009 came up to the stage and did his thing and some people even had to go outside for air and ‘smoke’ just to give their stomachs and smiling faces a break from laughing so hard. The headliner, Angry Patrick came up next and brought the closing one two punch of side splitting laughs to the crowd… WHAT A NIGHT!!!!

It was an honor to have Jeff Jones, the owner of the Loony Bin comedy clubs attend our show. It was great to have someone from such a big comedy club name come and support a local comedy getting our comedy on.

Eden Park’s owners (Cari and Ron Cates) and were some of the warmest and welcoming people I have had the pleasure to work with. The venue was simply incredible. By the way when I saw D.O.C. on the guest list that included more than 20 people.. I thought I had a following… it ended up being the Department of Correction… hehehe

June 6th, 2009 - Ahhhhhh Angels Place, Jacksonville, Arkansas – Comedy Night Blast

I had a great time performing for the folks in Jacksonville, Arkansas again… Moses is the owner of Angel’s Place and is one AWESOME dude that gives lots of love to local entertainers and wants to really be there for the community. He has the club to do it with too. They have kick butt staff, food, drinks, an awesome back patio, pool playing, mingling areas, big screen TV’s, a general dining area and a private dining area. You have to visit these folks and once you do, you will find yourself in heaven at Angel’s Place.

Angry Patrick, Tommy Kelley, Amy Pannell and I (Michael “Doc” Davis) brought the funny and had a blast. Tommy Kelley was a top 3 Arkansas’ Funniest Person finalist and Amy Pannell is an All-Star of AFP. Patrick and I are local comedy personalities that frequent The Point 94.1, The Edge 100.3 and Alpha Dog and are the regular Headliner and Host of the Anger Mis-Management Comedy Tour. Btw, we landed roles on an Independent Film called Tuckerman that will film this year.

The laughs were flowing and so were the drinks. Other local comedians came out to support the Show like Mike Brown and Chucky D (Arkansas’ Funniest Person). Thanks guys that means a lot every time we see you there.

Victoria Taylor, my date which is also a celebrity was on the scene, beautiful as ever and was showing her gorgeous smile and addictive laugh. Also in the house was Blake Woodson aka FTIA INA KIA (You’ll have to ask) and Wade Ledbetter from Jesters entertainment supporting our show.

A big thanks goes out to supporting fans like Crystal, Jeannie, Jonathan, Sgt. Jeff Moore and others I didn’t get the chance to get the names from. We love you all and thank you SO much for the support. Btw, my front pockets are for my hands mam… unless you are planning to get snake bit… hehehe.

What a KICK BUTT Weekend Double Festing - Freedom Fest and Rev Fest

I had the privilege to perform / Co-Host at two shows sponsored by Jesters Entertainment (Wade Ledbetter) called Freedom Fest Saturday May 30th and Rev Fest on Sunday the 31st. The Martyrs and Thunderheads put on the Freedom Fest show with the help from Jesters Entertainment and The Point 94.1.

At Freedom Fest in Judsonia Arkansas, the bands I was able to see when I got there was my friends from Eden Crow, McCuin and the boys that make the noise… THE MEANIES who closed out the night!!! Reuben did some co-hosting and some comedy with Blake Woodson (The newly titled Fastest Tongue in Arkansas, Ladieeees, hint hint mwaaaa haaaa haaaa). By the way… Street Doc is a kick butt dude… with a big heart!!! I take my hat off to these bikers. They really look out for their own. What a brotherhood.

Chucky D (Arkansas Funnies Person) and I, Michael “Doc” Davis did some Comedy on the stage as well before I transformed into the Video Camera guy for… you guessed it, a WET T-Shirt contest and crowd participation!!! WOW!!! Everything was 3D and coming at me… I like… I like… hehehe. Blake Woodson became an auctioneer with his HIGH SPEED tongue and got the bids for whoever gets to dump ice water on the contestants… By the way I don’t know if it was me or the camera that got over heated… hehehe…

Great Times!!!

At Rev Fest at the Revolution Room in Little Rock, Arkansas… poor Blake was worn out from the 2 nights prior at Freedom Fest but both him and Wade from Jesters Entertainment still brought more entertainment to Arkansas… Several Bands did their thing in 30 minute blasts of ROCK and even some had just performed at events just the night before. Blake brought up bands until his voice gave out and I finished out the night starting with getting layed by a Jagermeister girl on stage (a frilly flower necklace thingy… what were you thinking), Blake got layed too... Some of the bands included Rusty Hook, Wishtribe, Bombay Black, Spinning Jenny, McCuin, Dark from Day One and more (I don’t have the list)…

On top of all of this I got 8 under in a golf tournament, won a new set of Bazooka irons and was told I landed the Lead Role (Main Character) in a new film called Tuckerman… AN AWESOME WEEKEND!!!

The Meanies ROCKED IT AGAIN at West End!!!

WOW!!! What a freakn’ killer show at West End! These guys always rock hard as hell and bring life to 80’s music with energy, character and pure awesome classic rock POWER! I was taken back to the good old days of cruising Geyer Springs and Camp Robinson roads or kicking back at Burns or the River while JAMMING out with Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Ozzi, AC/DC, Van Halen, Kiss and others. Last night The Meanies even pulled off Prince.

Danny on vocals always captures the spirit of every one of the singers of the songs he sings. Daryl throws down on lead guitar with Matt on Bass and Alan on Keys and Rhythm and Sharpe beating out the pulse of each song on drums… WOW, WOW, WOW!!! These guys always inspire me as a person that is also in entertainment through their energy, creativity and incredible sound.

If you haven’t experienced these guys, then you have been missing a truly incredible opportunity. They have several shows coming up, but please understand that NEVER once is a show the same as one before it. I have been to several and ROCK just as hard at each and find something new every time. The entire band is VERY approachable and always makes sure that the fans / audience know how much they love them. I hope to see these guys interviewed or an article written in the near future in Sync, Nightflying Magazine and / or other magazines. Doc got 2nd Place in the Big Doin’s Comedy Contest and Benefit

What a fun night and a blast in competition. The Big Doin’s comedy contest in Rogers Arkansas was a contest and benefit for the Benton County Sunshine School (Helps developmentally challenged children). I had a great time performing / competing in the contest with the other comedians (Tim Steed, George Elswick and Jody Fuller). Seeing so many support such a GREAT cause was incredible.

The contest required the set to be a clean one and I upheld that promise and delivered one of my best clean sets yet. I even involved the judges and the old dude hitting on the old lady in the front row as part of my jokes and joking. Seeing so many laugh and enjoy themselves while I performed was a great feeling. I didn’t win the $1000, but I felt like I still won by being part of this GREAT event and hope to do so again in the years to come.

The event included a VERY touching video, music, food, drinks, comedians, a silent auction and even a live auction.

A special thanks goes out to those that support me and are always there for me. Without you I could have NEVER have got this far. A very special thanks goes out to Denise… thank you SO much for being there.

Performed for the US Military’s 39th and 212th (Welcome Home)

I want to welcome HOME to all that have returned from IRAQ after protecting the US interests abroad and those that are there. The sacrifice of our US military is something that many will never have to choose to do. All of our service men and woman have volunteered to do the jobs that they do. Several even do it over and over. We should all be VERY proud of them and pray that they all can return safely and stay safe when in harm’s way. I truly love our military, our country and those that support both.

It was humbling to mingle with top brass of Generals and more along with representatives from governor’s office, the flag brigade and Andrea Rockefeller.

Captain Will Phillips did a BANG up job on his last assignment with this group putting this event on.

I had the honor to perform for these men, woman and their families on the stage with Arkansas’ Funniest Person Chucky D and the angry guy from the Corey and Jay show Angry Patrick.

Like I told the audience… it’s a little intimidating to perform for the most powerful Military in the world that can erase you from it but I got em’ laughing anyway.

By the way, Andrea if you read this… you have a GREAT since of humor and we all commit to helping you in your cause where we can.

For everyone else, if you see a soldier or know one… give them a hug and tell them Thank You!!!

To all of the Military I salute the active, inactive and those that have fallen. I love you all and pray that peace finds you no matter where you are.

Doc Judged and Co-Hosted - Jesters 2010 Calendar Girls Contest

What an incredible 3 nights of fun. Jesters Entertainment’s Wade Ledbetter and Blake Woodson threw a heck of an event over a 3 Wednesday night stretch at the Revolution Room in Little Rock, Arkansas. The first night, I was one of the judges that had to do one of the most difficult jobs ever by choosing only 6 ladies out of a very beautiful group. The 2nd Wednesday night was awesome as well, but this time I got to co-host with Wally Waller from Outontherocks.com. This was another night of fun and I didn’t have to do the difficult task of choosing. I did however get to bring the girls on stage where Wally and I asked them questions that they had some VERY colorful answers to. Wrapping up the 3 night event, I had the honor to co-host with Arkansas Funniest Person, Chucky D and Blake Woodson. The 3rd night already had all winners and it was night of awards based on audience response using a decibel meter. We brought them up like the 2nd night and asked got to more question and still got surprised by some of the answers. I had a great time getting kisses, hugs and some interesting photo / video ops (not going into details, photos will be posted soon, mwaaa haaaa haaaa).

The event was coordinated and promoted by Jesters Entertainment. The sponsors of the event were Play N’ Trade and The Design Team Salon from Cabot.

Just wanted to say GREAT JOB to all of the Ladies… All of you were incredible.

2009 Arkansas Funniest Person Final Round and Rankings

WHAT A WAY TO END THE CONTEST! Patrick and I (Michael “Doc” Davis) had the honor to host and coordinate this huge event and loved every minute of it. I know I am very proud of our state for supporting live comedy and its comedians. I applaud you all!!!

An Incredible Job by all three contestants. The families, friends, fans and sponsors showed up in force to root on the comedians. If it wasn't for them this event would NOT have been such a success. 800'ish people attended the contest over the course of the 3 nights of competitions. WOW!!! It is so heartwarming to see so many laugh and having fun. It has always been my dream to bring laughter to so many and it is awesome every time I witness it. Whether it is because of me, someone else or from something I was involved in, it doesn’t matter. This world would be a better place if people took the time to laugh. Like I have on my website, Laughter is the best medicine; unless Rick Hobby is driving a bus and you’re in front of him... you would have to hear why... hehehe.

Patrick and I started things out by walking out in our very nicely put together tuxedos provided by Paul Morrells and entering with a funky James Bond intro. We gave out coupons, shirts (including my arm again) and other assorted items provided by our Presenting Sponsor Sync Weekly Magazine, Fite electric, Play n Trade, The Point, The Edge, and ComedianZone.com. A special thanks to supporting businesses like Paul Morrells, Your Personal Paparazzi, Shutter That, GT Graphix, Ava Bella Day Spa and Devine Image.

Once again Sync showed serious love for the funny through their professionalism, flexibility and genuine desire to be there for our community. A big thanks goes out to their staff that I have had the honor of getting to know (Crystal, Tabitha, Melissa, Lauren, Shea, Mike (the Video dude) and others). The judges had me laughing pretty dang hard also and they were Corey and Jay from the Corey and Jay Show on The Edge 100.3 and Melissa from Sync Weekly.
I have to say, these final contestants came for the prize and were being serious about their funny. Chucky D and Jason Thompson were extremely close with Tommy Kelley not to far behind. They all proved beyond a shadow of a doubt why they belonged in the top 3. There had to be a winner and it was CHUCKY D!!!

There maybe others that say they are the funniest but the simple fact is the crowd and judges made their choice known and that is that. If there are any challengers, there is always next year, but you have to enter. Patrick and I may have been called the Godfathers of Comedy but CONGRATULATIONS to Chucky D as the first and current reigning Arkansas’ Funniest Person. Chucky D took home the trophy (called The Hammy), $500 cash, Nintendo Wii (Play n Trade), Spa Treatment (Ava Bella Day Spa), a Makeover (Devine Imaging), Photo Shoot (Shutter That), Jason Thompson received a plaque, $250, and a Nintendo DS (Play n Trade); Tommy Kelley received a plaque, $150 and 52 weeks of Donut Holes from Krispy Kreme (Play n Trade). All of the guys were absolutely AWESOME and I was humbled by their performance as a fellow comedian.

What an honor to Host Kids Fest 2009 - a CASA event

Some of you asked, what was the Kids Fest thing that I hosted the morning of the Arkansas Funniest Person 1st Round that I co- hosted. Well, it was a true honor is what it was!!!

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) put on the show and I hosted it for them. There was a talent show, fashion show, fire trucks, music, food and gymnastics. WOW!!!

I have to say these were incredible kids with serious talent and courage that impressed me beyond words. I even got choked up to the point I couldn’t talk when I got to hear one of the kids sing Amazing Grace. Twirling batons, awesome voices, karate, dance and fashion… WOW!!! We had great food, drinks and more. CASA did it up right.

Here is the article information in case you can’t open the link to it - On Saturday CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, held their annual Kidsfest Event at the Grace United Methodist Church. Executive Director Tess Fletcher was "inspired by the courage these kids show by getting up on stage." The event is a fun day with purpose of raising awareness for child abuse prevention month. In addition to CASA, other local agencies including, Bikers Against Child Abuse, Conway Cradle Care, Agape Boys Shelter, Haven House, Department of Health and Human Services, Child Advocacy Center and the Conway Women's Shelter participated in the event each sharing their mission and work they do in the community. Central Events provided a bounce house and the Conway fire department brought out their fire truck making the day a true family fun day.

The talent show portion of the day had a wide range of acts including a taekwondo demonstration by James Allen Foster, a dance routine by Kathryn Grace Langston, a vocal performance by Mykela Laniece King and a duet by Jessica Buss and Natalie Pearl.

In the K-4th grade category, first place was awarded to The Double Digits made up of 10-year-olds Landon, Daylen and Daniel. Second place went to Whitney Bloodworth and third place to Hunter Barnett. In the fifth through eighth grade category first place was awarded to Samantha Pascoe who played "Arkansas Traveler" on the violin.

Second place went to Lindsay and Megan Triplett and third place to Mikayla Alderson. Special thanks to judges Jennifer Parnell, the current Miss Conway, Sarah Barnett, the reigning Miss UCA, and Caitlyn Cook, the current Miss Diamond Lake's Outstanding Teen.

The final event of the day was the Belk Fashion Show. The models were Jada Sims, Parker Rogers, Meadow Acua, Isaac Acua, Jayce Pollard, Kathryn Grace Langston and Abbey Fletcher. All modeled Easter themed items currently available at Belk.

2009 Arkansas Funniest Person Semi-Final Round and Rankings

Another night of laughs! The 2009 AFP All-Stars / Top 10 Semi-Finalists did an Incredible Job. What a night of fun on my Birthday. Friends, Family, and Sponsors all came out on this Easter Eve night and showed their support for Arkansas' comedians. This even also shows that during this time of economic troubles and world issues, people are looking for an escape from all of the stuff bringing them down and comedy provides that escape. Highlighting these comedians and the possibilities of putting on these shows by any venue is definitely viable. We are honored to bring more comedy and laughs to our great state.

Patrick and I started things out giving out prizes. I threw out shirts and my arm... which is a bit sore today (getting old). We appreciate all of our sponsors so much for helping us make this happen. Our presenting sponsor Sync and their incredible staff (Crystal, Tabitha, Melissa, Lauren, Shea and others). Crystal even helped us out by getting some of our stuff we forgot. What an incredible Partner / Presenting Sponsor. Our other sponsors included The Point, The Edge, Fite Electric, Play N' Trade, ComedianZone.com, Your Personal Paparazzi, Shutter That, GT Graphix, Ava Bella Day Spa and Devine Image. The judges were even funny definitely their comments after each contestant (Wade Ledbetter - Jesters Entertainment, Shea Stewart - Sync Weekly, and Mike Kennedy - The Point 94.1). Sharpe Dunaway was at the show supporting the local comedy scene and a big thanks goes out to him also.

The comedians really brought the heat!!! If it was possible, I wish they could all be in the final round. Regardless, now Arkansas has their top 10 comedians and All-Stars. The only one of their kind. April 18th will be the final round which will yield the one, the only, the REAL Arkansas' Funniest Person. The prizes for the winners coming up are - 1st place gets the bragging rights of being the Arkansas' Funniest Person, a very nice trophy, a spot on the Anger Mis-Management Comedy Tour, $500 cash, Nitendo Wii, Day Spa, a Makeover, Photo Shoot and more... 2nd place gets plaque, $250, and a Nintendo DS, 3rd place gets a plaque and $150... all of which are winners.

1st Round of the Arkansas Funniest Person – SUCCESS!!!

This was a true showing of how Arkansas shows their love for their own. Arkansans came out in the most moving and beautiful support of our local comedians in Arkansas. It truly touched my heart seeing the crowd cheer on the comedians as they worked hard to make top spot.

To be able to co-host and coordinate such an event with my partner Patrick (aka Angry Patrick) was an AWESOME experience.

What an unbelievable night of some of the Top Talented comedians in Arkansas!!! As far as I am concerned, they are all winners having the courage to step on stage. Age ranges from 18 to almost 70. The night started with 25 comedians participating and competing to become the top 10 to move the semi-finals on April 11th, 2009 again at Juanita’s in Little Rock, Arkansas. The doors will open at 8PM and the show starts at 9PM.

For the first night, the house was packed to capacity and beyond. We hate that not everyone could get in to experience the 1st round of the very 1st Annual Arkansas’ Funniest Person contest. We hope that you will be able to make it to the 2nd round. Who knows, you may be witnessing someone becoming famous and you would be able to say, ‘I saw them when….’.

Arkansas’ Funniest Person is an event for Arkansas’ comedians to show their stuff and obtain the title of Arkansas’ Funniest Person. The first round of competition is Saturday, April 4, at Juanita’s. Each comedian will get 5 minutes for this round with the top 10 comedians proceeding to the semi-finals on April 11.

During the semi-finals, judges and the audience will narrow down the field to the top 3. These comedians will be back at Juanita's Saturday, April 18, for the finals.For more details - http://www.arkansasfunniestperson.com

02/28 AMCT Comedy at Vino’s and some snow!!!

Even with snow falling outside, the Anger Mis-Management Comedy Tour troupe arrived on scene along with a packed house of people ready to get their laugh on.

Vino’s had some awesome pizza and killer in house brewed beers. Rated one of the best places to get brewed beer and food. Vino’s was set up perfectly and the staff serioiusly had their stuff together. The entire troupe was very impressed with the layout. Thank God Lee figured out the MP3 player… damn thing is too small. hahaha

I opened the show up and let it be known that somethings in life ‘Are a bad thing!!!’ and ‘There’s no Button for That’. I pumped another 5 hour energy drink into a 30 minute set while all the while it felt like I couldn’t talk fast enough for my thoughts. Tommy Kelley came up and did his thing but this time with a twist. Rachel McBride with CloverBlue joined him on stage and helped sing a few comedy songs. You will have to hear about the tickler. Angry Patrick came up and melted the outside snow and heated up the room with his rants about most things people, including myself, just wish they could make fun. I guess that makes Patrick our stress relief.

A big thanks goes out to our supporters like Crystal, Amiee, Rachel and her friend, Barbara, Justin, Chris, JJ, Jeremy, the whooped dude in the back, the girl that reached in my front pocket for a while, Patricks Family, Blake, Wade, Tommy’s family and friends and everyone else for the love and support. A night that will live in infamy. There were so many folks that showed up… who knew that Blake knew so many folks. I think most of them thought there was free alcohol, which is why I was there. Ha ha, just kidding. Parrot Beach was kind enough to allow us the use of their venue and they served up the alchohol and food very well and it was GREAT!!! It was Blake’s 40th Birthday and here was the agenda…

I did my thing getting the roasting oven heated up. Wade brought a HUGE banner of Blake showing off his Hooter’s outfit that looked like a Cambles soup reject picture of a Pug on drugs. It was quite interesting watching the ill fated Blake being cooked as Wade, Amy, Sharpe, Perry and Patrick continued a relentless charbroil of poor Blake. Open Mic began and the butt burning continued as Jeff had Blake FEAR what was about to be said as Blake ran for the door. Mike Woodall and PosX got a piece of the action as well. Then Blake got the last word proving that he gets better the drunker he gets at about 5 shots at this point. Blake fought back very well and furiously… who would have thought this old dude had that in him… Blake closed the night with well over 10 shots of anti-stability alchohol. Happy Birthday Blake, that was an interesting shade of green!!!

Eden Crow came up to the stage to close out the night with some SERIOUS jam!!! Hell to the yeah. Every one rocked with the heart pumping high energy bad ass rock!!! What a birthday!!!

I enjoyed hosting and roasting the show and being there for my buddy Blake!!!

Angel’s Place got a visit from the Angry Comedy Troupe

What a show what a show!!! Angel’s Place was an incredible location to get our comedy on!!! This party zone was setup perfectly and felt like it had always been a comedy club. Bean and the crew outdid themselves preparing for the Angry Brigade. The food was absolutely awesome!!! I chugged my 5 hour energy drink and was ready to unleash it in a flurry of 30 minutes of funny. All I can say is GET IT WHERE YA CAN!!!! Before it was said and done with my set in comes Tommy Kelley. He interrupted, as I outed him and the crew as being night life light weights. He reminded me of an ‘incident’ after a show with a song he wrote about our favorite eats spot, the Waffle House. Thanks Tommy!!! Great guitar work brother.

Chucky D came up and proved why I look up to him as senior comedian. His antics and good times about his up bringing along with butt kicking’s from the family continues to bring me to tears every time I hear his set. By the way, if he asks for a high five… be worried and covered!!!
With a loud voice, we hear, ARE YOU FREAKN’ KIDDING ME!!!! Angry Patrick came up with his angry self and shown everyone exactly why he is called angry. The crowd seriously got into the grrrr with him. Some more than others and someone will probably be asking if their mom really has hair on her back. Patrick is a crazy, angry, funny guy that you have to see and hear. He brought it hard core and with some serious funny and brought new twists to everything… which means never one show is the same as another.

A big thanks goes to all of our fans / new friends (Rachel, Crystal, Glenda and Sis, Phil L., Johnny, Brandon, Carla, Melissa, Antonio, Ben, Pat, Amy, Kelly, Blake, Mike B. and anyone my sucky memory can’t remember) also a huge thanks Angel’s Place (Bean, Moses, Vegas, sound dude, door dude and wait staff that fed me and quenched my thirst)… REMIND ME OF NAMES SOMEONE!!! Ha ha ha. Thanks for all of the emails, comments, the phone numbers, back of comment card ‘Special’ comments… and everything… you all ROCK and make this all worth it.

Eden Crow, Eddie and the Defiantz and Doc the Comedian at the Rev Room - Little Rock, Arkansas

What the heck!!! That’s right, I had the honor and pleasure of being the opening act and Emcee for Eden Crow and Eddie and the Defiantz again. I did my thing on stage trying out a new spin on my act and had a blast… There were some peeps there that got to see some of my handy work on stage before and bought some of my Drinks… HECK YEAH!!!

Eddie and the Defiantz took to the stage and had a great set and was tight. Hell-a-fied energy!!! ROCK ON GUYS!!! Eden Crow commanded and closed out the night with some serious jam. What a Wednesday night!!! Both bands really complimented each others sounds. I can’t wait to see these guys on MTV, Movies etc… It’s just a matter of time.

I look forward to sharing the stage with these guys again!!! Don’t miss their next show!!!

Jesters Love Fest w/ Comedy and Auctions, Mwaaa haaa haaaa

What a night of incredible fun… There were so many folks at this place and some had to stand. Jester’s Entertainment set up an incredible show, Wade took care of business. I got to meet so many different people and very good looking woman. Blake Woodson called me out to the stage out of the blue to go head to head with a laugh off and to do some stand-up against Reuben the Meatman. Well I did my thing and had a little TOO MUCH fun with it and Blake along with the audience announced me as the winner, mwaaaa haaaa haaaa. Meatman and I drank together afterwards, no hard feelings. It was so awesome to have so many people to come up to me say “AWESOME JOB, that was hilarious as hell”, “dude that was the funnies stuff I’ve heard”, “When can I see you at the Loony Bin”, ummmm. Sharpe Dunaway and Blake Woodson were even saying WOW!!! I’m still living on a bit of adrenaline from the experience.

I also got to see many of my friends there too along with my buddies that are GREAT bands; Eden Crow and McCuin, which by the way ROCKED it out as always. I hung out with Sharpe, Jeff, that owner dude of OutonTheRock.com, Blake and the AWESOME Jesters girls (Alison and Cat), which I believe now likes Captain and Coke or at least one with diet coke… ha ha ha. They are great girls.

After that was all done, it was time to get auctioned off. There was Sharpe, a Jeff / Mike mixer, Blake, that owner dude of OutonTheRock.com, Reuben the Meatman and myself. Just so ya’ know, I sold for the most and the winner gave me as a gift to Stacie Mack. Found out that Stacie likes belts A LOT!!! My safe word is now Disney!!!

The girls showing off lingerie came up to do their thing on stage and a couple of them would have made it so easy to do breast exams or even full body exams for that matter, Ha ha ha. Just so you know the girly auction made WAY more money than the guys but I had 2 different people that wanted to bid higher on me but Blake took the mic from me. The girls still would have made the most. I think Blake was scared I would make more money than he did and he was right.. ha ha ha… The roast is coming bud!!!

I do have to say that Blake did indeed kick butt as the host… VERY nice!!!

By the way, for all of those that thought they saw me, yes that was me at the ‘Table’ of and yes what I grabbed from the table did require batteries and it vibrated, ha ha ha. That one dude liked the 1st one a little too much and I was a bit uncomfortable, ha ha ha. Everyone were great sports for sure as I walked around and introduced them to the ‘stuff’.

By the way, the Security at Juniata’s was AWESOME!!! For any of them reading this knows why I say this. That had to be the safest club and parking lot in Little Rock.

So we all left for Embassy Suites to hang out with McCuin and party a little. Even got to enjoy a little soap opera and fun. Greg’s acoustic plying with singing was kicking butt. I met a female police officer and her sister during all of this. I’ll just say there was some frisking going on and that’s the first time I ever got to search a cop, SHE WAS HOT!!! And I still have NO idea where the weapon was and I tried VERY hard, ha ha ha… all in fun.

I crashed in a room that I never asked how much it cost… and was woke up at 8AM by BANG BANG BANG, “House Keeping” grrrrrrrrrrr

The entire night was AWESOME; you should never miss a Jesters Entertainment event.

Holy crap batman!!! The house was packed and no more places to sit!!! This was a great time and incredible support from all of you. This is the 4th packed show in a row and one was even completely sold out.

I wanted to salute our soldiers again and especially Jacob and Brian that recently came back from Iraq and was up front at the show to support us… GREAT Guys but they can’t sing worth a crap!!!

Everyone at the show were awesome!!! Patrick the Angry, Angry Viewer, Chucky D and I brought it HARD to the stage and the laughs were flowing faster than anything else. I even got tickled at the lady that said she had one in her purse… you know who you are. It is always an honor to perform for the awesome people of Arkansas. Arkansans truly exude southern hospitality and sharing. Thanks for all of the drinks and a husband offered up his wife. WOW!!! I also gave a hand to several the ladies there (One was a walk up and into)… mwaaaa haaaa haaaa. Just doing my doc thang!!! GET IT WHERE YA CAN!!! Also, for those that know, I told ya’ that the ‘O’ in Doc looks cool when circling the ______. Hahahe.

Happy Birthday again Morgan on your 21st birthday!!!

A big thanks goes out to the staff at the Conway Supper Club. Joe you kicked butt on the setup… I wanted to thank Rick Morgan and Justin Story for helping with video and photos… Patrick and Chucky D for being AWESOME tour buds. Special thanks goes out to Crystal, Jessycat, Robert, Candy, Dani, Glenda, Brian, Alana, Jacob, Michelle, Samantha, Morgan, Lee, Carolyn, Susan, Misty, Lori, Melissa, Kelly, Jim, Sam, Stacey and anyone I may have missed… I suck with names!!! Haha

After the show Chucky D and I went to Plan B, downtown Conway to say ‘Sup and stuff’ to Jimmy the owner and hang out with the Phi LambDa Chi peeps. Those guys and gals know how to party. I figured out how they keep their GPA up… they party to kill the slow or retarded brain cells… haha.

After Plan B, I went to hang out with some friends to play Rock Band at 2AM. By the way Jacob and Brian really can’t sing and now I understand way they went into the military. I apparently can’t sing either, or read and I’m not coordinated, haha. By the way Brian… GOOD GOSH on the Morgan and Coke!!! I might need actual coke with it next time… haha. Glenda and Alana were great sports as I relaxed through the night and picked on em. Sorry I can’t remember any other names… haha… too much Captain Morgan in me… haha

To be honest I was also blowing off steam during this night. Comedy is therapy for me. My mother was admitted into the hospital the night before the show. She wanted me to do the show no matter what, so I dedicate this show to her in my own quiet way. Visiting hours were over before the show was over and I didn’t get a chance to visit her so I did the after show stuff to get my mind off of it for a little while. Truly everyone this night made me feel that I was part of their families and friends. I needed that… Love ya’ all.

Performance for UCA’s Phi LambDa Chi fraternity at Plan B in Conway, Arkansas

What a kick butt and fun night… I had the privilege to perform for Phi Lambda Chi of UCA - http://www.philambdachi.com - at Plan B in Conway, Arkansas with my friends and fellow performers, Reuben the Meatman and Patrick the Angry, Angry Viewer.

Plan B and The Phi Lamb’s were awesome during this rush night!!! Great people, great food and great sports. Especially Caleb (Nose) and the hamster / gerbil dude…. Hahahaha. Not going into details, you should have been there. I do have to say that it was awesome getting that many people laughing and clapping so much that were sober IT WAS A BLAST!!! hahahaha

I hope all of the perspectives with good GPA’s that want to maintain them will ask to join up with these guys… seems like the Phi Lamb guys really look out for each other.

Plan B was well laid out and the owner Jimmy and his folks working it were some of the nicest and inventive folks I have met. Jimmy is going after a dream and I salute him for it. 2009 Anger Mis-Management Comedy Tour Show - Daly’s Downtown

What an incredible night!!! It was a SOLD OUT show. I hated that some folks were not able to get inside to see it. The next show in the Dardanelle area will likely be a back to back show night to make sure we get to entertain and meet everyone. The folks were so welcoming and I had great fun with all of them. The show started out with me as the show host and first comedian. It was hilarious to see and hear folks bust themselves on some of the more adult material I was slinging regarding a certain toy store. There were several folks honoring us with celebrating their birthdays and anniversaries at our show. That was very cool and THANK YOU!!! After I did my part, I introduced comedian Tommy Kelley and as always he rocked the house and played some funny as all get out (I don’t know where that phrase came from) music that you all need to hear. After Tommy did his thing Patrick the Angry, Angry viewer came and proved why they call him the Angry Viewer. He has to be the funniest angry person I know in Arkansas. He brought it strong and had me laughing so hard my jaws were hurting!!! GREAT TIMES!!! We hung out for a little longer after the show to meet people more personally and sign some photos, shirts and programs.
